Zena's POV
Aubrey Evangeline Adams, my elder sister.
She was the sweetest girl I ever knew.
She had white skin like snow and curly brown hair and warm brown eyes.
She was like my guardian angel. She was always there for me. Not only she was my sister but she was also my best friend. Our lives were perfect. Alex was the perfect big brother. Teasing and loving and caring and protective all. Aubrey was the best sister one could ever ask for. Mom and dad didn't have much time for us but, we were happy since we had ourselves.
And then, he came to Aubrey's life.
Gabriel Wilkins.
He claimed to love Aubrey immensely and my sister fell for him, hard. They dated for about five months and Aubrey truly loved him.
And one day, she caught him cheating on her with her own best friend, Juleka Gibson. Aubrey was heart broken. For the next five weeks, she was like a walking zombie. She didn't eat or sleep properly. Day and night, there were tears in her beautiful brown eyes.
The brown eyes that were used to be full of love and joy, were filled with immense pain and misery. Her state was unbearable to both me and Alex. How it went unseen to our parents, is beyond me.Whenever I saw her, her face was tear strained. She used to stare faraway out of her window for hours. Both me and Alex tried our very best to pull her out of her misery but it was no use.
And then like an angel from heaven, he came to her life. B or as we all know, Blaze Arthur Davis.
He was a shy boy with light brown hair and blue eyes. He was the school nerd, with glasses and all. Maybe that was why I never noticed him at school.Blaze had always loved Aubrey. He was in the same grade as her. When she went in to depression, he made it his life purpose go bring back the old Aubrey. The loving, caring, gentle and kind Aubrey. The outgoing girl, we all loved and missed.
Blaze visited Aubrey everyday. He was used to sit by her side for hours, her delicate yet pale hand clasped in his, gently stroking it. He talked to her for hours, about school, movies, books and various other things. He was so patient with her.
Alex and I often watched him with Aubey. Aubrey refused to talk anyone and had shut out herself from others. But, gently and lovingly, Blaze broke down her walls. It was like a miracle to me and Alex. Aubrey slowly opened up to Blaze.
Blaze was not only loving to her, he was caring and friendly with me also. He became another brother to me. Actually, I had already accepted him as my brother in law.
The thing is, even Alex liked him. Finally, Aubrey became herself. She no longer stared in to air for hours. She no longer had tears in her eyes nor did she have pain or misery. They were always happy and joyful. And she fell in love again. She loved Blaze.
But Gabriel didn't let us live in peace. He came barrelling in to her life again, wanting her back. This time she rejected him as she was in love with Blaze.
But Gabriel didn't back off.And one day, I found her alone in her room, wounded and crying bitterly. That was one of the worst days in my life.
We found, that that bastard, Gabriel had raped her.To say that we were furious would be an understatement. Alex was ready to burn the whole world just to get his hands on Gabriel. The police searched for that ass everywhere but he was never found.
Aubrey again shut herself from us. This time, even B could not get to her. She disgusted herself.
And then, she made her decision. One gloomy and horrible evening, she killed herself. She said that Blaze deserved much better than her.
