"What did you do?" Suzanne asked, pushing her aside making her stumble against a table. "Bryan, my love, wake up. As soon as the police get here I'm having them arrest you. I saw you push him down the stairs."
"I didn't. He slipped.""No one is going to believe a scornful wife."
At the hospital, Chris sat next to Bryan and Suzanne was standing in a corner answering questions. "I saw her push him down the stairs. He told her they were done and she just pushed him." Suzanne told the police.
"You're lying, he grabbed me and when I tried to get away he slipped. I would never push him down the stairs." Chris said crying holding his hand.
"Chris?" He asked, waking up.
"Bryan. I'm so glad you're awake." Suzanne said, pushing Chris away.
"Chris, can you leave us alone, please?" Bryan said as Chris left the room crying.
"Sir, we need to know what happened. Did your wife push you down the stairs?"
"No, she had fallen and I grabbed her to help her and when she pulled her arm free I slipped."
"Okay, thank you sir. We'll let you rest."
"Oh, my love. I'm so glad you're okay. I thought she had killed you." Suzanne said, grabbing his face to kiss him. He pushed her away.
"You have some nerve, Suzanne. After what you did to me you really thought I wanted you back?"
"You're the one that called me and asked me to come."
"And you knew there was something wrong. In my right mind I would never want you back. Now I want you to leave and I never want to see you again, you understand?" He said with hatred in his eyes.
Chris was crying and holding her stomach in the waiting room when Joe arrived. "Chris, are you okay?"
"I've been holding this pain for the last couple of hours, but I can't hold it anymore." She tried to stand up and Joe saw blood on the seat. As she turned around she passed out in Joe's arms.
"Help. Someone please help me."
"How are we doing, Bryan?" Carl asked entering the room.
"I'm much better, Carl; a bit of a headache, but ready to get out of here."
"We need to keep you overnight for observation. Did you regain your memory?"
"Yes, the fall must've brought them back. Can you tell my wife to come here, please?"
"She's in the OR. She was bleeding and passed out."
"Is she okay? I need to be with her." Bryan said, trying to get up.
"You need to rest. Right now they are trying to save her and the baby. I have my best surgeons working on her, okay? I'll keep you posted." Carl said as Joe entered the room and he left.
"Joe. Why are you bleeding?" Bryan asked as he saw his friend's bloody shirt.
"It's not my blood, it's Chris'; I caught her as she fainted."
"How is she?"
"I know the same you do. You were an asshole, you know that?"
"I'm so sorry. I'm going to live the rest of my life knowing how much I hurt Chris."
"I'm glad you're back though."
Hours later, Joe wheeled Bryan to Chris' room. She was just waking up. "Bryan, how are you doing?"
"Honey, I'm so glad you're awake. And I'm so sorry about everything I did to you." Bryan said getting up from the wheelchair and kneeling next to Chris.
"You remember?"
"Yes, I remember everything."
"So, you remember cheating on me with Suzanne?"
"I never slept with her. We are married, I respected those vows somehow."
"But I saw you two in bed."
"I did that so you would leave. I didn't understand why I was starting to have feelings for you. So to avoid more hurt I staged that so you would go to Joe's. I'm so sorry."
"Are you guys ready to meet your baby?" A nurse asked, entering the room.
"Our baby, you had our baby." Bryan said in tears.
"Congratulations, it's a boy." The nurse said giving the baby to Chris.
"He's so small, Bryan. He's so beautiful."
"We need to think of a name, we never discuss that."
"What about Alexander?" Joe asked.
"Alexander Blakenship. I like it." Bryan said as Chris nodded.
