She must've drifted off for a while. She woke up with a jolt and looked at the time. She had half an hour to get ready before the guys came by. She quickly got out of bed and went to take a shower. She decided on a white blouse and a short black pleated skirt. She brushed her hair till it fell on waves over her shoulders. She walked outside her room. It was quiet. She started walking towards the stairs when she heard Bryan's voice coming from the closed door to her right. She slowly knocked. "Come in." She heard him say it before she slowly opened the door. He was sitting behind a big desk talking on his phone. She just stood there looking at him.
He lost track of the conversation he was having with his assistant as soon as she walked in. The top showing her cleavage and the short skirt just showing her tan legs made him hard. He cleared his throat a couple of times before cutting the conversation short. "Have you settled okay?" He asked, getting up from his chair and walking towards her. He had changed into a pair of faded blue jeans and a dark grey v-neck with long sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
"Yes, I have. Can I ask you something?" She said as he closed the space between them. "Why do you have your study in Joey's apartment?"
"Chris, this is my apartment. Joe just stays with me."
"What? Why would Joey tell me he had his own place?"
"I don't know, Chris. That's something you have to ask him."
"So, this is your place. I can't stay here." She said turning around to open the door. He took a long step closing the space between them and closing the door. He put his arms on each of her sides. She turned around and could feel his breath on her face. "Bry... Bryan."
"We need to talk, and you are going to listen." He said putting a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I am so sorry for what I did. I'm sorry for leaving you like that." He said, stroking her cheek.
Chris tried pushing him away, but she just wanted to rub his chest. "I... I hate you so much Bryan." She said crying into his chest. She started pounding into his chest. He grabbed her wrists and put them behind her, pulling her closer to him. He could feel her heart pounding. "Why, Bryan?"
"I got scared." He said letting go of her wrists. "You were only sixteen, Chris. The sister of my best friend. I almost ruined you, Chris. I loved you too much."
"I knew what I was doing, Bryan. You're making me sound like a naive little girl. I was also in love with you!"
"I was almost twenty-one, Chris. I could've gone to jail. I couldn't do that to your family. They took me under their wing when things at my house got bad. They love me like a son. Your brother thinks of me like a brother."
"So, you thought only about yourself? You didn't think about me? When I came out of that bathroom and you were gone without a goodbye or an explanation. Then I heard the next day that you had left. You played me!" She yelled the last part, slapping his face.
He grabbed her hand before she slapped him again and pushed her against the door. "I'm sorry, Chris. I never stopped thinking about you. I still love you!" He grabbed the back of her head and was just about to kiss her when the doorbell rang.
