The following days went on perfectly fine. Sam would eventually go to work at the museum and come back to a sleeping Bucky or a bored Bucky.

Eventually, she showed him how to use her laptop and log on. Besides the fact that his typing speed was terrible, he managed to have a little fun online. He got used to reading books over historical events and watching a few TV shows.

Her wish was to stay with Bucky for a couple of days, because she thought that it was unfair to let him stay all by himself.

Sam yawned and stretched her arms, noticing the sound of the pouring rain and gray skies outside her window. Remembering that she had arranged a week of vacation, she smiled and went to the living room to check on Bucky.

He laid on the couch with his metallic arm draped on a green cushion, lips slighlty parted and a little visible stubble on his jawline.

Sam couldn't contain herself from giggling and snapping a quick picture with her phone.

Bucky stirs and opens his eyes to a giggling girl.

"Sam...", he complained while rubbing his eyes.

"It's not my fault you look so adorable.", she said between giggles and stopped when she realized when she said that outloud.

The thing was, she reallly liked Bucky. Since Goodwill, she couldn't stop herself from doing so. Ever since she took him to the shopping mall, she noticed that he would probably go for the more pretty girls out there, so she tried to ignore it.

Bucky was a little shocked from her statement. How could she think a metallic arm was adorable?

Awkwardness was slowly building on the atmosphere and Sam was the one to break it.

" I have good news, Buck.", she started while lacing and unlacing her tiny fingers. "I have the whole week off, so what do you want to do?"

A smile made its way to Bucky's face, thinking that he didn't have to be so lonely anymore.

"A movie?", he suggested, now knowing what it was and by what he had seen at the shopping mall.

Sam smiled back and they both agreed.

" But first," she said. "I have to go get doughnuts. Want to come?"

Bucky remembered how they had issues on taking him to the mall with his arm. He didn't want to go through the same process of cover-up.

"Don't worry, Buck.", Sam insisted. " It's just down the street."

He nodded and headed for the door.

"Bucky!", Sam said and he turned around to a laughing Sam. " You're not going to go in those pj's right?". She pointed at his blue flannel pants.

He groaned, "Really?"

"Your not the only one.", she said while leaving for her room and changing into leggings, a big NASA t-shirt, and some white Keds.

It was 'just down the street'. Bucky thought while they walked into the small place, a small bell ringing behind, making Bucky turn to take a look.

Both walked out of Fredd's Donuts with one dozen of glazed doughnuts and a purple umbrella over their heads.

"How are they?", Sam asks while gulping down a piece of doughnut.

Bucky smiles while taking a bite. " Not bad."

Sam took another bite and went to insert one of her favorite movies: The Giver. It was one of her favorite books, as well.

"You'll like this one.", she smiled as she propped herself beside Bucky on the couch.

As soon as the movie started, the popcorn that she had set up in the microwave, ringed and Bucky stiffened.

"Stop, Bucky. It's not a bomb, it's a timer for food.", Sam said and Bucky chuckled at his useless, alarmed behavior.

He thought Sam was doing a really good job at helping him become himself again. Every little thing (including laughter), was a piece to the puzzle in his personality.

Sam had put the popcorn into an orange bowl and hot chocolate in two identical mugs.

It seemed amazing how they can fit real people like him in such a tiny box, he thought.

More often the movie went on, Bucky payed attention to what was going on on the screen. The society being portrayed, was cruel in a very orderly way.

They took away people's feelings away just to have a peaceful world.

Just like him and HYDRA.

"You okay there, Buck?", Sam put a hand on his shoulder and both looked at the screen at the same time.

It was the characters Jonas giving his childhood friend, Fiona, a kiss.

A really rare feeling and urge grew on Bucky. By now, he didn't know what the hell he was doing.

Sam felt sad as she took a sip of her hot chocolate, because she knew deep inside her that she would never be the girl on the screen, anyday.

She faced from the screen and noticed that Bucky wasn't looking at the screen, but at her with an emotion that she couldn't quite read.

His metal hand wrapped around hers and laced his metal fingers with hers. At this point he didn't care if she didn't like him for his arm.

He couldn't fight it any longer.

Bucky liked Sam and couldn't deny it anymore.

Sam was shocked at his gesture and looked into his blue eyes.

They were at their softest state yet.

She squeezed his metal hand and Bucky leaned, both closing their eyes, just anticipating for their lips to touch.

They finally met and Bucky didn't want another memory of him doing the same thing, because he only wanted Sam to be carved into his mind and no one else.

Sam smiled into the kiss. Her day came and Bucky was the one.

He was the one to make her happy and loved.

They both pulled away and Bucky realized that she was the one to make him feel like somone worth loving.

After all that he had done as the Winter Soldier, Sam still liked him.

Heck, still even loved him.

He realized that he was holding her hand and quickly pulled back.

Quickly, Sam pulled it back and kissed his knuckles.

"Bucky..", she said while smiling and making Bucky's stomach swarm with butterflies.

"You can never hurt me."

Bucky smiles warmly and feels like everything was in its place.

Sam now realized how happy she was.

Bucky, on the other hand, felt over joyed and so he wrapped both of his arms around Sam.

She returned the hug and she could hear Bucky's heart beating.

This could only be a dream.
