Looking around the empty house, Sam was worried that Bucky may have gone off. Ran away.

Panic took over her and she dropped the groceries on the table.

No sounds were heard, but those of classical 40's music, that seemed to be coming out of her room.

"Bucky?", she called out, while walking fast down the small hallway.

The music seemed to be getting a little louder the nearer she came.

As soon as Sam opened the door, a very well groomed Bucky stood in the center, with a bouquet of blue periwinkles, a gray boom box playing the nice music.

Sam looked stunning to Bucky as she opened the door.

She was even more beautiful than any flower, he thought.

Sam was taken aback by this and her eyes widened.

The flowers were simply beautiful.

"Is this f-for me?", she stuttered while getting herself together.

Bucky grinned and nodded. Her hands took ahold of the amazing flowers, admiring them in every way.

He noticed bruises around her neck and that sickening feeling overtook him, making his smile turn into a frown.

He did this to Sam.

And there was no way she could ever forgive him.

A gentle touch to his cheek, send a zap of lightning coursing through his nervous system.

He looked up and saw Sam smiling warmly at him. She could never be upset after what  he had bought her.

"Thank you, Bucky.", she said in the most sincere way possible and reached for his metal hand.

Bucky quickly pulled it back, afraid of what might occur.

Sam forcefully gripped both of his hands and laced them together.

Bucky lightly gripping back, scared that his enormous hand would crush hers.

"Bucky, " she started, looking deeply into his eyes. They were like an ocean and she wanted to drown herself in them.

You can never hurt me.

The words echoed in his mind like a broken record, reminding him of the whole opposite.

"I love you." His shoulders jumped and he couldn't feel his heart beating any longer. That  he didn't expect.

Sam thought she would faint when the words weren't spoken back.

"How?", a barely audible question escapes Bucky.

"You don't understand, do you?", she whispered, defeat weighing heavy upon her frail soul.

It was clearly true.

He didn't love her.

He felt sorry for her.

How could she have been so stupid, as to say those three worthless words?

"I...I, um...", she said, trying to fit the right words in, while her eyes traveled to the carpeted floor.

How could anyone love someone, who still hasn't gotten rid of all of their demons? Who still hasn't thrown their past away?

These questions raced through his mind.

But, no.

Sam was the answer to those questions. She was willing to love him no matter what it cost her. It was time for him to do the same.

"S-Sam," he started and took a deep breath. Running wasn't an option. She wanted to help him and by staying away, nothing would be solved.

More trials in their relationship needed to end. Those three words need to be said. And they needed to come out of him.

"I...love you too."

Sam froze and she couldn't feel her lungs anymore.

No air and no oxygen.

Shock was the only description on how she felt.

Bucky looked deeply into her green eyes, that bought more opaque memories (which he was awfully thankful for) of his days in the military training camps. Reminded him of the forest and green leaves that he had seen before.

Sam knew that she loved him and Bucky knew the same.

There was no denying it.

With not a moment to waste, they both leaned in.

Sorry it was short.

I know, I know I suck, but what else could I have written in a cafeteria full of wild children?

Remember to give constructive criticism. It really helps a lot.

Thank you x3

Love ya x100 :)
