Bucky kept drumming his long fingers, against the fabric of his jeans, waiting for a suitable answer. He had pulled his metal hand behind him and a jacket over his body, nervous that Pepper Potts would find out.

Currently, they had been discussing their move to the Avengers Facility, with no reason.

"It's up to Nick to tell you, Mr. Barnes. But I think I can hint.", Pepper smiled.

Sam kept quiet and stared at Bucky, waiting for a not-so-extreme reaction.

His eyes wandered to the nearest clock and it read 7:38 p.m. Not too long ago, Sam had taught him how to read and understand time measurement that wasn't military.

" Um, well. As I was saying—", Pepper continued.

"What do you want me to do?", he asked in a serious tone, now crossing his arms and turning his face to Pepper.

The dead-eye look, startled Pepper a bit, but she continued anyways.

"You need to come to the Facility. It's not safe here.", she stated, using the same tone as he. " Be glad that I came to your household and not some men with UZI's."

Bucky pondered over this. If he was to come to that place, what would become of him? What would become of Sam? If they wanted him, why would they send a harmless woman?

He had one question left.

"Who am I working with?"

Pepper clasped her hands together and leaned forward towards the coffee table.

"Captain Steve Rogers.", she internally smirked, knowing that would cause a bit of less paranoia.

He froze right where he was.

The night that he almost killed Sam, he remembered calling out his name

They were in the battlefield, together and a man, hidden in the trees looked at him, straight in the eye.

Steve fought alongside him when a few more men, who looked the same as the man, took the liberty to shoot and weaken him, until he was completely gone and kidnapped.

"Sorry, um...Pepper, but I'll take care of this.", Sam said sticking her hand out for her to shake. "Steve's a touchy subject."

"Don't worry, I just need you guys to be outside. There's an SUV waiting.", Pepper said and was out the door.

Sam looked at Bucky and he leaned on the barstool against the counter, shaking his head.

"Buck?", Sam quietly asked, making her way over to him.

His head shot up. "He was the man at the bridge."

Sam stopped in her tracks when she saw a tint of remembrance in those blue eyes.

"We need to get going.", she said, lacing and unlacing her fingers. " he will be there."

The whispered statement made Bucky hesitate, but if this meant keeping Sam safe, like the woman had mentioned earlier, he was willing to do it.

He nodded and made his way over to Sam, hugging her.

Both came outside the apartment condo, with three luggage bags.

A man with dark shades and a suit took their bags from them and placed them in the trunk.

"Your stuff will be moved over after." Pepper smiled, turning hee view to Bucky and Sam in the passenger seat of the black Chevrolet Tahoe.

Sam looked at Bucky and reached for his hand, giving it a gentle, reassuring squeeze.

Only once, had she gone to New York and it was for a historical conference. But now, it was way more than a small trip.

During the drive all the way to New York, Bucky fell asleep on Sam's lap–knowing that she would wake him up if something happened.

"Are you two dating?", Pepper asked from the front seat, looking in the rearview mirror.

Red covered Sam's face and she looked down to an adorable Bucky. "Something like that.", she stated quietly, but loud enough for Pepper to hear.

"That's cute! I was hoping for that answer you know.", she smiled while turning around to look at the couple.

"How long is this...going to take?", Sam asked while lacing her fingers with his metal ones.

"The drive?", Pepper turned to face the road in front of her. " About three hours."

Yawning, Sam felt her eyelids get heavy.

"I wanted the private jet, but Nick wants this transfer to be a little discrete.", Pepper complained.

Having arrived at the tower, Bucky, Sam and Pepper hopped off the SUV.

Sam looked in amazement at the tower. It had its flaws, but over all it was amazing.

Bucky put his arm around Sam's waist and they were both escorted by Pepper inside.
