They shook hands.
For the first time.
And it wasn't that foreign actually.
"You have a nice tower." he complimented, looking upwards towards the sky.
"You've got a nice metal arm." Tony grinned and patted his back.
Bucky had to resist the urge to roll his eyes and walk away, but decided against it because he was barely getting into good terms with this guy.
"So I'm guessing ...thank you?" Sam piped in, looking as excited as ever.
"For what?" Tony raised his eyebrow.
"For letting them stay over." Pepper joined, standing beside Tony and hugging him.
"You let them stay over?!" Tony was surprised now.
"Well, maybe if I wasn't your assistant you would have never known." she replied, shrugging.
"And we are kind of sorry." Sam added, Bucky draped his real arm over her.
Pepper waved her hand. "No apologies. Its just a few bucks for shattered windows and carpet cleaning."
"They shattered my windows and what about my carpets?!" Tony demanded, facing Pepper. She just pushed him a little and mouthed a goodbye to Sam and Bucky.
"How come I never get informed of this stuff?" They could still hear Tony shout in the distance.
Sam and Bucky faced each other adoringly and smiled. Never had they felt so happy in the last few days, since their loss.
"You ready?" Sam asked, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. Bucky's metal hand came up and take them off gently.
"Hey!" Sam laughed.
"What?" Bucky retorted. "I think you look beautiful without and with these."
A blush crept up Sam's face and her gaze shifted towards the ground.
"Let's go." Bucky whispered in her her, making shivers run up her skin. They both started walking towards a black Cadillac SUV.
Did they mention it was theirs?
Sun streamed down on the green leaves that would soon be golden. He thought it was beautiful and very much appreciated the wonderful view, while he drove. Even the signs that read:
Scottsdale 20 miles ahead, seemed enjoyable.
In fact, that was were they were moving. Scottsdale, Massachusetts. A small town, with big houses and an interruptible area of peace.
Fury relocated them there, because it was a pretty good option that was close to New York. They needed him, just in case.
He turned his gaze to Sam, who's head was resting on the stretched seatbelt. She was sleeping and that was also a sight to see.
Both of his hands gripped the steering wheel, turning the car and making it shift backwards a little.
They had arrived at the driveway of their new home.
The house was big, big enough for the both of them and a couple of guests. It was the color of white, with blue and green in the mix. Double doors and a few patterned windows.
Her eyes went wide at the view of both her and Bucky's new home. She couldn't believe that Pepper and Tony had been so kind, as to lend them this place.
And again, Tony probably didn't have a clue.
"Like it?" Bucky's voice filled the silence after the ignition had gone off.
Not yet fully awake, she replied, "No,"
Bucky raised an eyebrow, a little confused.
"I love it." Sam finished, then rubbing her eyes.
He held her hand, both then hopping out of the Cadillac and heading towards the trunk of the car.
Her small hand played with the golden house key, that would soon open a door and lead to her new home.
Bucky, was behind her, barely climbing the steps with four suitcases.
Stopping, he caught a glimpse of the house's interior. One thing, for sure is that it was empty. Only walls and empty spaces and appliances were there.
He came inside and the air smelled like fresh paint with a mixture of wood.
"Where is the rest?" he asked, looking around.
Sam chuckled a bit. "Their on the way on the delivery trucks." She said, still not very believing of the fact that this was their home.
For the first time, the doorbell rang with a beautiful ring.
It was at least six o'clock when it rang, signaling that their first houseguest had arrived.
Already? Sam thought while making her way from the disorganized living room to the front double doors.
Steve and Natasha appeared on the other side of the door.
"Hello." Sam said. Nat and Steve just smiled, while holding a few grocery bags.
"May we come in?" Steve asked politely, clasping his hands together.
