Deduction (Death note L X Reader)

Chapter 12

"Watari, has she said anything?" L walks into the room, Light and I follow behind. I still don't know what's going to happen, will he kill me?

"No, shall I turn on the video and audio?" 

"Yes, that would be great." 

The task force including myself are completely astounded. She couldn't move a bone if she tried, she was blindfolded too. Countless chains are locked up around the straight jacket she's been forced to wear. 

L take a sip from his cup, 

"Mr. Yagami, Light has now become our prime suspect. Please be aware of that." 

-3 days later-

"Ryuzaki, Amane is speaking." Watari announces

"Visuals and audio now!" 

"Kill me. Hurry up and kill me."

Her words hurt, she's been locked up for three days already. I can't bear it. I fidget with my hands. L notices, but has other things to attend to. Still, I have to get out of here. And with that, I head to my apartment. Everything was getting to me, Light, Misa, the thought of L dying. I slammed my head into my pillow.

-L's POV-

Y/N, what's going on with you? Did something happen that day with Light? 

"Misa Amane, can you hear me?" She continued to beg for death.

"Does that mean that in the face of overwhelming evidence, you are acknowledging that you are the second Kira and giving up?"

"I don't know anything about Kira. Just kill me now!" 

It's no use, she won't budge.

-Your POV-

These thoughts keep circling my mind, they won't stop. I can't get my mind off of it until I hear the knock. I thought that he'd be busy. He must care about me then right? No, he's probably just doing this because he has to. 

He comes in, but I don't look at him. I can't. I've already caused enough trouble. He lays down next to me, making sure I can see him. I go to turn over, but he stops me. He strokes my hair, which comforts me. His hands are soft, and I can't help but smile. We stare at each other in complete silence for a few minutes. My heart warms up, and I hug him. He doesn't understand, but smiles and holds me. 

"My deduction tells me that there is something going on. What is it?" His voice is so soothing, but my mind begins to race again.

I don't know where to begin, but even if I did, could I tell him?

"I'm j-just a little stressed lately, that's all." The lie barely made it through my teeth.

"I can see right through you, don't lie to me." He gets serious, leans in and kisses my nose. 

There's nothing I can do, I'm cornered. Everything flashes in my head, tears erupt. 

L stares at me, not sure of what to do, but clearly concerned. He holds my hands, 

"You know Y/N, I've never felt this way about anyone except you." 

Only just now, I noticed that he has a vanilla and strawberry scent, must be because of all the cake he eats, but it also matches his personality. I sit up, and L does the same. He reaches done next to the bed, and pulls out two forks, and a slice of cake.

"I thought that we could share this while we talk." 

He wanted to share a cake with me? He never shares his food with anyone... Regardless, I take the fork from him.

"Now, please Y/N, tell me."

My hands shake a little, knowing the risk I'm about to take, but I control myself.

"Light. H-He threatened me that day." 

He put his fork down, 

"He what!?" 

"He told me t-that he's K-Kira... and he wants me to cooperate with him. He asked me what your name was, and I told him I didn't know. He then said I have to figure it out, or he'll kill me." 

I bursts into tears.

"I can't lose you L! And I know we can't arrest Light, I don't know what to do!" 

"My name is L Lawliet."

I'm shocked to the core, why did he tell me this? It's such a cute name though, 'Lawliet'. 

"I've never told anyone my real name before, but I trust you. And yes, you're correct. We can't say for sure that he is Kira. but I will keep it in mind. Thank you for letting me know."

"It's a beautiful name... but you can't tell Light, or anyone about this!" 

"I know, don't worry." He kisses my nose again and takes my pinkie to head back to headquarters. As we quietly open the door, my heart sinks.

"Yeah I agree, Ruki is to emotionally for our taskforce, and L's always with her." 

I understand what was happening. They've probably been talking badly about me the entire time. They're right though, I have gotten my emotions into this, and that wasn't supposed to happen. I stand behind L, and he grows angry, tightening his grip on me.

"Have you any work since I've been gone!?"

The task force clearly hasn't seen L mad before, neither have I. 

"You are all risking your lives to be in my taskforce, to catch a mass murderer, but here you all are, talking badly about one of our members. Asuki has played a significant part in catching Kira, she's done better than some of you!" He sighs and turns around to face me.

"Are you alright?" I wasn't, but the purr in his voice made me feel better.

"Yeah, now I am." I smiled at him, and this wasn't a lie.

"Now, back to Misa."
