Goodbye 2020

I'm like at least 3 days late but GOODBYE 2020 and HELLO 2021!! May the wonderful year of 2021 chase all 2020 woes away~~

I'm taking about covid btw. I HOPE WE END 2021 WITHOUT COVID!

Honestly speaking, it still doesn't feel like 2021. To me, it's still June 2020. I think once school starts, I will adjust to the fact that it's already 2021 (?!?!) faster. At least I never made the mistake of writing 2020 for dates so far 👀

Today is 4 January 2021. A new school year has started. Well, for primary school and secondary school students. I'm not in either categories anymore. I graduated last year but we'll talk more about that later.

I'm in junior college now and as a new JC student, school will officially start on 18 January 2021 for me (and 1 February for those who enter via O levels). It's different for different JC institutions.

Since I missed the form to change CCA, I was by default put into basketball but it's okay because none of the other CCAs interested me. I can get another one anyway (but I'm only allowed to choose from the clubs/societies)! I might join student council. Might. My bball training officially starts on the 11th... :)

In case you didn't already know, I'm in the Integrated Programme (IP) so after secondary school, I'm automatically enrolled into a specific JC which, for me, is Raffles Institution. It's arguably the best JC in Singapore, along with Hwa Chong Institution. I mean the cut-off point is the lowest for these two (with RI being lower for science and HCI being lower for humanities). The lower the score, the better, by the way (in O and A levels). School starts on the 11th for the older JC students, though. And JC only lasts for two years.

I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM TURNING 17 THIS YEAR?!?! TIME FLIES?? I'm going to be graduating AGAIN within 2 years??

Okay, let's talk about graduation.

I graduated from secondary school on 23 October 2020 and I have no idea why I never posted anything about it (on this book). I guess it's because I was quite inactive due to exams (and watching K-dramas *cough*)...

We had a classroom decorating competition and my class got 1st place! The theme was "garden party" and we surely did a good job ;) I wore a blue dress for our grad... morning. We couldn't have a proper grad night thanks to covid :( but it's ok we're unique lol

Currently, Singapore is in Phase 3. What does that mean? We can gather in groups of up to 8 people now (an upgrade from the previous 5 from Phase 1/2). And I can't remember much because other than that, the changes are so insignificant for me. Yeah, the covid situation here is quite good so lucky us! We barely have any cases in the community.

In the meantime, I need to study for the H2 math placement test (in the midst of writing, working and tutoring other kids) because I majorly screwed up math at the start of 2020 which caused me to FAIL to meet the requirement for H2 math. You see, the requirement is 2.0 for Math 2 (additional math) and 3.2 for Math 1 (elementary math). Even though I met one grade above both for my EYAs... my overall GPA said something else. So I appealed. My test will be about 2-3 weeks later?? I wasn't informed but it'll be sometime in the last 2 weeks of January.

Good luck to me! And good luck to everyone in this new year. I have a feeling 2021 will be a better year because what can possibly be worse than 2020 heheheh

And read my books ;)
