So I took part in the Open Novella Contest II. It has 65 prompts for us to choose from but I could relate to none of them... so I was like, "Okay, I'll just do romance cuz why not and I'll take prompt 1 from that category cuz WHY NOT?!"
And that's how I landed with Kiss and Tell. It's some story about 2 people kissing because of a dare and rumours started flying around and only the 2 of them know what actually happened. So I'm just going to assume that someone saw that kissing and sort of exaggerated it. Yeah.
I found out about the contest about 5 days ago and the 2,000-word milestone deadline is 30 January 07:59 for my time zone (GMT+8). I really thought I was screwed because I was almost 3 weeks behind time (the contest started on 1 January).
It took me like 2 to 3 days to write 2000 words lol. I initially put 1769 words into 1 chapter but I figured it was too long for a chapter in a novella so I split it into 2 chapters after some editing (more like adding). Since a novella has to be 20,000 to 40,000 words, I thought I should have 1000 to 1500 words per chapter cuz I wanted at least 20 chapters.
Sorry, I just feel that it's too little below that.
Anyway, I have 1053 words in chapter 1 and 1011 words in chapter 2. With 2064 words to submit, I have enough words for the milestone! Actually, I submitted it this morning (in a Google form). Or at least, I think it was this morning...
I just completed chapter 3 with 1096 words. I guess this is where Loretta is introduced. I mean, the angelic side of Loretta. Haha. Yeah.
Anyway, next milestone deadline: 26 February 2019!! I need to have 8000 words by then. That would be about 8 chapters. Nice, I already have 3. Just 5 more to go!
