"Margaret?! Maggie?!" Pounding on her front door before kicking it open, the hinges breaking in the process.

"Maggie?!" Running through house.  Please, please be okay. The entire house was destroyed, couches flipped.  Glass from the dining room table shattered on the carpet.  She at least put up a fight.

Hearing a muffled groan from below, I bolted downstairs.  The door to the back guest room ripped from the wall.

"Maggie?"

"Vict-"

Running toward her voice, my body stilling to see her crouched beneath the guest bed.  Bags under her eyes, her usual vibrant pale face was now was dull and grey.  Pulling her arm to clutch her in my grip.  Her body falling into me.  My eyes zeroed on her legs.  Bound by silver.  Deep gashed scattered her thin neck, her left knee seeming to barely attached.

"Where's your-"

Hugging her tight in my arms, her frail fingers clung to my shirt.

"Claude. H-he took him.  I have to go get him" My voice breaking as felt my chest tightened.  Snatching the bedsheet to protect my hands as I unwrapped the silver chains.

"Why'd you come back? Y-you need to go find them.  Where would he-"  She tried to stand but I laid her on the bed.  She was weak.  The silver keeping her from healing.  She needed to drink.

"I thought he killed you Maggie! Of course I came back!  Claude took Damien back to his shithole in England.  I have 48hrs to get to him.  But I'm going to need help" Pacing the room as my dear friend sad brown eyes held mine silently.

"We'll need to fill up first" Her hoarse voice coughed out.

Raising my hands. "Of course! I'm sorry for being so selfish!"  Rushing back to her side.

Her small hand went to mine arm.  Patting me softly. "He's you destined.  I would be the same if I had one.  But please go find us food.  And hurry.  We need to cover a lot of ground if we're to make it in time" Coughing repeatedly, I pushed away the strawberry blonde hair sticking to her forehead.

"Go.  Now" Smirking as she closed her eyes.

After filling our stomachs with more than enough.  The poor two guys I had tricked into coming to Maggie's place were more than eager at the thought of meeting up with two girls.  Sadly I didn't have time to ease the fear.  Damien needed me.  Maggie changed her tattered and bloody clothes once her strength.  Happy to her looking composed self again

Maggie and I wasted no time charging into the woods behind her small cottage.  I let her guide the way as she seemed to know exactly where to take us.

"I have a friend.  We can take a plane and be safe for the whole flight.  We can trust him"

Furrowing my eyebrows.  "Are you sure?  Does he know what we are?"

Her laugh erupted through her huge grin.  "Of course not.  But he is valuable"  Pulling out a cellphone from the back of her tight jeans.

"I though Claude took your phone?" Picking up our pace.

"Oh please, he should have known better. I love how far technology has come" Smiling as she dialed a number quickly.  She only needed to speak a few minutes before hanging up with triumph.
