*Present day*
My teeth pierced the skin of pray like butter, the warm liquid flowing down my throat as I moaned in content I as I held the nameless man in my grip. His hands clinging to me as if I was his savior.
But in reality he was just one of millions of others. Lured into the cramped little bathroom stall as the gritty and sweaty club bounced with liveliness just feet away.
It wasn't hard to charm him into following me, he'd clearly been downing drinks before I walked in. His sloppy smile grinning from ear to ear when I strolled up to him. His eyes drinking me in from head to toe. Well aware his eyes were fixated on my chest that was covered with a black low cute tank top.
His pulse began to slow, indicating I had taken plenty from him. Licking the last drops of blood as I retracted my fangs. I pulled away from his unbuttoned chest. Grabbing his stubbled face so he could meet my gaze. His eyes locked on mine within seconds. His hands still clutching my torso.
I began buttoning his shirt while never letting my electric blue eyes drift from the hold I had on his mind "Thank you for the lovely dinner. But you're going to forget this ever happened, you'll forget my face, this night. You will go home and sleep the second I'm out of your sights"
His glazed eyes never left mine as he nodded on command.
Patting his shoulder I turned on my heal and entered the booming music. Bodies grinding on each other, drunken strangers slobbering on each other, surely to regret it in the daylight.
Stepping outside into the cool air, it was only midnight. Still early for me to go home. My eyes caught the man I fed on stumbling behind me as he weaved and swayed down the block. Doing exactly what I had commanded him to do.
It took years of practice to perfect the art of 'dazzling'. At least that's what I called it. Humans were easy, there minds were already attracted to the darkness, vampires. They couldn't help it. We are alluring creatures, it's all apart of the hunt.
Pulling my dark burgundy jacket over my arms, to keep up appearances. But my body was unbothered by the cold autumn air of New York. There was only one place I could think to go where I wouldn't stand out.
The familiar small bell rang as I walked into the small book shop, the smell of the vintage books filling my senses, causing a calming affect on me.
"Ah, my favorite girl!" William's gruff voice called from behind the counter. His aged and wrinkled face smiling sincerely.
"Of course it's me. I'm your best customer" Smirking as I ran my fingers across the books. Taking my time since I knew he wouldn't close the shop for another hour.
"You're the only reason I stay open this late" Shaking his gray hair as dropped his eyes back to his paper work.
"You know me, night owl. Just here for some books before I head home" Smiling to myself. If he only knew.
"Victoria, you are welcomed day or night, your like the daughter I never had. And you be careful when you leave. Lots of trouble come out at this time of night."
I knew his words were genuine. He was one of the few humans I trusted. He never pushed for personal info, always greeting me with a friendly smile, and allowed me my space.
I had my books chosen as I sat them on his counter.
His eyes wandered the books like always "You and your crime novels" Shaking his head.
