I ran for hours, never stopping as I pushed my legs faster.  Dawn was perhaps only an hour away.  A sign for Niagara Fall passed my eyes.  I was close.   And Damien shivering was increasing.  I continued hushing him softly, trying to bring him comfort but I knew we needed to find shelter soo.

I finally stopped in front the front steps of the small cottage door, not a another house in miles.  She always did like her privacy.

The front door swung open before I could knock.

"After all these years you finally decided to come, and you brought a snack?"

"He is mine" Hissing out as I held Damien tighter in my arms.  Margaret hadn't changed a bit.  Her short strawberry blonde bob framing her oval face.  Deep almost black eyes boring into mine as she waited patiently for my reason for coming uninvited with her hands on hips.  Her long elegant night gown telling me she was about to go to sleep.

Looking back over my shoulder "We need a place to stay.  Just until we find somewhere more permanent.  Please Maggie?"  Looking down as Damien breath tickled my neck.

"Where are we?" His gravelly voice sounded dry.

Glancing back to Margaret.

Sighing heavily as her armed waved us in.  "Take him to the guest room.  You may sleep down stairs, beneath the staircase"

Stepping inside, old pictures of her past flames lined the walls.  Expensive furnishings filled the cottage entirely.  Now one would ever believe this was the same place from looking outside.

"I will stay with him"

She glanced behind her shoulder down toward Damien. "He is scrumptious to look at, even in his state"

My eyes darkened, but she waved me off with a roll of her eyes.  "Oh please Victoria, I stopped playing with humans in almost a century"

"It's obvious you are protective of this fragile man"

"He's mine" Mumbling softly in Damien's ear.  My tone seeming to interest her.

She opened the basement stairs as I followed closely.

"Mine? As in...?" She trailed off.

"He was made for me" Speaking confidently.

She smirked knowingly "I'm sure Claude is thrilled about that"

Stopping just at the door beneath the staircase that lead to an even lower level deep underneath the house.

Her eyes held mine, flash of shock etching her features.

"Has he spoken to you?!" Rushing into the dark earthy smelling room.  No source of light anywhere.

"No, not since you left him" Placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.  "Hasn't contacted me but once since you left asking your whereabouts.  Which I of course told him I had no clue"

Rushing over to the small twin sized bed.  Laying Damien down, his soft grunt bringing my eyes to his opened ones.

His dry lips tried to speak but no words came out.

"Do you have any water? Food for humans?" Brushing his hair away from his eyes.

"No" She scoffed.

Kissing his forehead gently.  "He needs it" My eyes looking up to see her own confused stare.

"Give him your blood" She blatantly suggested.

Shaking my head quickly "I never told him about that"

"Well if you want to help his body immediately.  Otherwise he'll have to wait till the sun is down.  You need to give him some of your blood"

His hand shot back out to my wrist.  His usually warm heat always inviting but now was too cold.  He lad lost all color in his face.  His eyes wide with panic.

"I'll leave you to decide" Nodding once before turning to her right to a wooden door that lead to where she slept.

Crawling beside him in the small bed, cradling his head in my arms.  "I have to do something that will help heal you.  You may be disgusted, but I can't risk losing you while I sleep" My eyes stinging as kissed below his ear.

"I'm so sorry for all of this" Crying out as I brought my palm to my lips.  Extending my fang, ignoring the pain as I tore a chunk of flesh off.  Spitting it out behind me.

"Please.  Drink Damien" Bringing my oozing hand over his mouth.

He tried to shake his head but had no energy to truly fight me.

"Please Damien.  Just drink.  Hate me later when your healthy" Stilling his moving head, forcing my bloodied hand into his mouth.

His fighting slowed.  His moans for more now replacing his lack of energy already.  His slick tongue looking for any drop he could miss.  My body buzzed as I felt one of his trail away from arm to my hoodie.  Yanking me closer.

His strength obviously coming back quickly.

His hands clung to my wrist holding me closer, mouth locked over my hands.  His eyes as I forced his head away from my hand.

"More" Grunting out.

"You've had enough" Whispering softly in his ear.

Suddenly his body rolled over mine faster than I could have expected.  My eyes growing wide as his hungry eyes bored into my own.

"More" His body bending down to my neck.  Dragging his lips across my throat.

His hands pinned my wrists above my head.  His knee parting my legs. His body already stronger than an average human.  Which is why we avoided giving humans our blood unless we were making a vampire.

"It's the blood.  It'll pass" Lifting my head against him.  Ignoring the bulge that was now pressing between my legs.  Biting my lip to fight a moan.  His hips pushing with more friction.    My own body begging to match his movement

The wound on his neck slowly disappearing before my eyes.  His tan skin returning.

"Damien.  The sun will be up soon and exhaustion will hit me soon" Pleading with him as his mouth licked and nipped below my ear.  My body shook beneath his from the sensations he was erupting within me.

His eyes soften the slightest bit.  Finally understanding my words.  His hips pressed into me once more making me gasp, arching my back.  Squeezing my eyes tight, I needed to control myself.

He swiftly rolled off of me, his hand hooking my thigh over his leg.  While his other hand tugged me closer.

My eyes were feeling heavy as I tried to meet his intense gaze.

"Don't leave this room" Mumbling as my head curled into the crook of his neck.

"Never" Growling in my ear.  Pulling me tighter in his grip.  My mind filling with darkness as sleep began taking over me.
