Damien stayed right on Maggie's and I's tail. His own expression gleaming with excitement as he kept up with our pace. His eyes aglow, seeming to forget the situation we were in.
A woman, twice my size suddenly slid out with too much speed. Her gaze locked on mine as she lunged toward me. Dammit. Maggie, dodged her swinging punch as she she leaped in the air. She was trying to pounce on me.
Dodging to the right.
Damien sped past me, his arm stretched out. Her body falling back as her thick throat connected with his forearm. His instincts were already taking hold if him. Whether he was aware of it or not.
Maggie quickly pounced on her, hands twisting her head off with one swift pull. Tossing her head to the side as we began running again.
Damien's hand finding the small of my back.
"Good job" Smiling up at him as I leapt over the lifeless body. Turning our attention on the destination we needed to reach. I couldn't hide the pride in my words, his strength far more extraordinary than I ever would have thought.
"How'd you keep Claude away for so long? And how did you get out of the holding cells?" Muttering softly to Maggie, her long legs guiding us as we rounded the corridor.
Bodies of headless vampires scattered and on the marble floor. Blood splatter along the walls, it was like we were in a scene from the movie Carrie.
"I wrapped silver chains around his bedroom doorknob after taking out most of the guards. I also blocked his door. But I don't think he's going to stay in there forever. I also found something else out"
"What?"
"He's not as great as he thinks he is. He can't persuade humans" Her mocking laugh as I slowed my pace in shock.
"W-what do you mean he can't-" Blabbering out like an idiot.
"I think he would have persuaded Damien to just leave you. Easier than going through this mess. The girl in the dungeon that we got trapped in with made it clear he's never persuaded her before. When Damien got dragged out of the cell, I slipped out without even him noticing, he's was too wrapped up in anger to even pay attention"
Visions of when Claude turned me flooded into my head. I remembering being scared, frozen with fear. But was Maggie right? It had been so long ago I wasn't sure.
"A mistake I will never make again" A cold voice replying to Maggie cut through.
Maggie and I slid to stop spinning around to see a burned oozing arm choke holding Damien.
Damien clawed furiously at Claude's face as he kept his hateful gaze on me. Deadly growls leaving both their lips as Maggie and I stood in shock. Damien ripping out locks of Claude's hair from his scalp.
"Let him go!" Screeching out.
Charging forward, Maggie following close as I flung myself into Damien's and Claude's fumbling arms. Both of them losing their balance. Claude's fangs caught my wrist ripping out a chunk of flesh. Damien escaped his hold, his amber eyes holding mine as he yanked Claude's head back unnaturally. Damien's fangs clamped down of Claude's ear ripping out the cartilage. Spitting it out to his feet.
"I'll kill all of you!"
Swiping his body with the back of my hand as hard as I could, his body flinging against the wall, leaving a large crack as Claude fell to the ground. Damien's gaze holding something I couldn't quite decipher. Pride? Maybe?
