It's been a week since they last met. Her office was trying to fix a meeting with him again, but the manager was not able to give them a date. They were told Siddharth Shukla was busy and will contact them when he is free. So the office was waiting for their call. Poor Vishal has got a lot of bashing from the managing committee for letting this opportunity slip from his fingers. He had taken all the blame on himself and Sana was feeling guilty all the time.
Sana was walking down the corridor of the hospital in bandra lost in thoughts when she came face to face with Sid's mom. She had gone to the hospital to see her colleague's mom who has gone through a bypass surgery. Sana would have changed the route if she had seen Sid's mom before. But she was now in front of her, giving Sana a weak smile.
Maa: Pehchana mujhe??
Sana: Ha... Haa pehchana. Kaise ho aunty??
Maa: Mai thek hu. Tum kaisi ho??
Sana: Mai bhi thek hu.
Maa: Aur...... Ohhhh
Maa brought her hand to her head. It's seem she was feeling dizzy. Her face had gone white.
Sana: Kya hua aunty?? Aaye aap yaha bait jaaye.
Sana removed a bottle of water from her purse and gave it to Maa opening the lid for her.
Sana: Le aunty yeh pe lijiye. Aap yaha akele aaye ho?? Mai doctor ko bulau??
Maa drank water from the bottle and felt ok. Sana sat near her, looking at her worriedly. She saw colour return to the old woman's cheeks.
Maa: Nahi nahi Mai thek hu. Vo thoda bp issue ho raha hai. Vohi dekhane aayi hu. Mera beta hai. Vo pharmacy se medicine lene gaya hai. Aata hoga.
Sana's heart started beating faster. Sid was here somewhere. She didn't want any encounter with him. She suddenly got up from the seat.
Sana: Vo aunty Mai....
And she heard him behind her.
Sid: Maa?? Kya hua??
Sana turned around and they stood facing each other. His heart skipped a beat. She was so beautiful, was the first thought that came to his mind. He forcefully pushed that thought away and looked, challenge in his eyes. He then looked away and moved towards Maa. He sat on the floor in front of Maa. The people in the lobby of this big hospital were eyeing him, as he was an international celebrity. But his only attention was towards his mom. Sana wanted to turn around and run. But she was so transfixed with the scene in front of her. He had taken both her mom's hand in his. Concern in his eyes.
Sid: Bolo na Maa. Aapko kuch ho raha hai kya??
Maa brought her hand to Sid's cheek with a smile on her face.
Maa: Mai thek hu beta. Dekho iss bacchi ne mujhe sambhala. Thoda sa chakkar aa gaya tha. Par yeh dekho pani piya to ab thek hu.
Sid stood up and turned around to look at Sana. She was not looking at him now. Instead she looked at Maa and smiled. Maa to stood up.
Maa: Yeh lo beta tumhaari bottle. Thank you.
Sana moved ahead and took the bottle. Sid moved aside looking away.
Maa: Siddharth vo uss din maine tujko bataya tha na ke mujhe mall me ek baccha mila tha..... Vo isse ka tha.
Sid looked up at Sana. A stunned expression on his face. His face has lost all the color. As if he has seen a ghost.
Maa: Maine kaha tha na usse dekh kar mujhe teri yaad aa gayi. Bahot pyara baccha hai. Zorawar naam hai na uska??
Sana removed her eyes from Sid and looked at Maa. Forcing a smile at her.
Sana: Jee... Accha aunty Mai chalti hu. Mujhe zara der ho rahi hai.
Aunty: Thek hai. Bye beta.
Sana: Bye.
Sana walked past him, her head held high. She walked steadily till the end of the corridor, then turned right and literally ran till she reached her car. Her heart was hammering inside her chest. She pulled open the car door and drove out of the hospital premises.
To know that she had a son, broke Sid a little more. He is being destroyed everyday. Today life gave a big punch to his soul. Tears had formed into his eyes. He squeezed his hands into fists, his nails cutting into his skin, knuckles turning white. He had to do this. It was the easiest way to get the trembles in his body to go away. He does this all the time, when he remember those days six years back. It helps. It really helps. He shut his eyes tight close to shove away the tears, which he feared might fall out. Blowing out the air, he opened his eyes. The tears were gone. The trembling in his eyes has ceased. It mattered what he looked on outside. What he is from inside doesn't matter.
And on the inside Sid was a total wreck, just barely holding on.
Maa: Kya hua beta?? Kaha kho gaya?? Tu thek hai. Tera chehre ka rang kyu udh gaya hai?? Tabiyat to thek hai na??
Sid: Maa mai thek hu. Aap chalo yaha se.
He took hold of Maa and walked her to the parking lot. He will willow into his misery later. He has rest of his life for that. His Maa needs his attention now. They drove home. Maa was looking with concern in her eyes.
Maa: Tu thek nhi hai. Kuch hua hai tujhe. Kya uss ladki ko jaanta hai tu??
Sid: Nahi Maa. Aisi koi baat nhi hai. Aap pareshaan mat ho.
Maa: Par mai Pareshaan hu mere bacche. Tujhe andar se koi baat khaaye jaa rahi hai. Tu mujhse baat kar. Mujhe teri bahot fikar hoti hai.
Sid: Are Maa aise kuch nhi hai. Kuch kaam ko lekar tension hai. Aap fikar mat karo.
Maa: Mujhe pata hai, yeh koi kaam ka tension nhi hai. Tu jhut bol raha hai.....
Sid: Accha chalo, utro ab. Ghar aa gaya.
Sana sat in the car and drove too fast. Her heart was thumping in her chest. She wished she was home and not gone to the hospital today. She was beyond nervous to see Sid's face when his mom told him about Zoro. This whole thing took place so quickly that she doubted Sid has seen her leave. She felt this new information was swirling in his head and he was not able to process it. Sana reached home and rushed to her room closing the door behind her. She leaned to the door and let a sign of relief. She closed her eyes and his shock and stunned face came in front of her eyes. Why was he shocked?? Can't she have a baby when she has a husband?? She was scared he might try to find out more about her life. No he won't. He hates you so much. He is least concerned about your life. He thinks so little of you that he has not even considered calling her company. He doesn't even want to be associated with people for whom you work. So don't try to flatter yourself. Her mind showed her the reality, which made her shudder. She went to the bathroom and took a hot bath trying to relax her now tight and tensed muscles.
Sid was driving on the road. He did not knew where he was going. She has a son and has named him Zoro. A name which had a memory. He pushed that memory away from his mind. So she has a husband, a son, a complete family. A happy life. And he?? What has he done with his life?? He was broken. A waste. He had so much money, so much fame, name. But nothing mattered. He had no peace. No happiness. No one, whom he can unburden himself to. No other women interests him. He have them for his needs, but then shove them away if they try to come closer. The funny part is he push away women who wants something more then what he gives and want a woman who does the same with other men. What a confused and pathetic personality he is. He thought of himself. Was this his destiny now?? Was he going to come across her and be tortured all the time ?? Should he go back again. Should he leave again??
Sana sat on the bed her eyes swollen and nose red. She had cried remembering Sid face, when he heard about Zoro. There was so much pain. Her mobile buzzed. It was Vishal.
Vishal: Sana Siddharth Shukla ka call aaya tha.
Her mobile slipped from her hand and fell on the bed. He called?? Why?? What did he say??
Vishal: Hello?? Sana?? Are you there??
Sana picked the mobile and brought it to her ear.
Sana: Kya kaha tumne??
Vishal: Are you ok?? Maine kaha Siddharth Shukla ne khud call kiya tha mujhe.
Sana: Kyu?? I mean kya bol raha tha??
Vishal: He is ready to meet us tomorrow. Isn't it great??
Sana: Hmmm
Vishal: Mujhe to tension ho gayi the. Laga yeh project gaya hamaare hath se. Managing committee ko yehi chahiye na agli show ke leye. Aur sahi bhi hai. He is the best.
Sana: Hmmm. He is the best at everything.
Vishal: Kya matlab??
Sana: Kuch nhi.
Vishal: Sana mujhe pata hai, you must be nervous due to that day's incident. Par positive approach lekar presentation de. Everything will be fine.
Sana: I know. Don't worry Vishal. I will do my best.
Sana disconnected the call. When will this agony end?? Facing Sid again tomorrow was going to be so painful and difficult. But she will have to be prepared now. She will be coming across him all the time in the weeks to come, if he says yes to the project.
