"Kya Galti the Meri"

   

Sana came home. There was no one home. Zoro was on his field trip. He will be coming back by five and Sunita has gone to her cousin's place. Sana sat in the hall and cried her heart out. It was 11:30 am now. Sana's mobile rang. It was Sid. Sana rushed to the table and picked the call.
Sana: Hello Siddharth??
There was a long silence.
Sana: Siddharth kuch bol na...
Sid: Jaana kyu kiya tune mera sath aisa??
Sana: Sidd...
Sid: Matlab Kya Galti the Meri?? Kyu tune itna bada dhoka diya??
Sana did not reply. Sid's voice rose. They was pain in his voice.
Sid: Kuch puch raha hu mai tujhse. Bata na mujhe kaha galat hua mai?? Kyu kiya tune mere sath aise?? Kitna khush the na Jaana, hum sath me dono?? Kyu kiya yaar... Kya galti the Meri??
Sana: Kuch nhi.
   Sana knew he was crying.
Sid: Jaana puchne ko to bahot kuch hai. Shayad tu vo sab sawalo ke jawab bhi na de paaye. Par meri galti batade bas.

Sid: Had se zyada pyar karta tha mai tujhe... Khush the na hum dono sath me??... Bas galti bata de tu mujhe......itna bada dhokha kiya kyu tune mere sath..... Sana: Siddharth mat bol yaar aise. Mai galat thi. Ha maine tere sath galat kiya... Teri koi galti nhi hai... Maine barbaad kar di teri zindagi
Sana's voice increased. She started crying loudly while talking.
Sana: Mai zimmedaar hu tere iss halat ki.... Maine tujhe dhokha diya.... Kash uss raat mai tujhse na milti....
There was so much pain in her voice that Sid got scared.
Sid: Sana...
Sana: Tujhe yaad hai Siddharth Maine tujhe ek baar kaha tha, ke mujhse dur raho.... Kyuki meri badkismati tujhe lag jaayegi.... Dekh vohi hua.... Ho gaya na tu bhi barbaad...
Sid: Jaana please iss tarah se mat ro baby. Tujhe kya ho raha hai??
Sana: Siddharth Mujhe lagta hai mera seena path jaayega. Mujhse ab bardaasht nhi ho raha hai.. Meri wajah se tu aaj iss halat me hai.... Mai zimmedaar hu yeh sab ke liye.... Mai zimmedaar hu...
Sid: Sana Meri jaan. Please mat kar aise. Kis tarah se khud ko taklif de rahi hai tu... Chup ho jaa meri jaan.
Sana: Tu aaj ke baad dur reh mujse.... Mai vo job chod dungi... Yeh shaher chod dungi... Mai chali jaaungi....
Sid: Tu aise kuch nhi karungi. Tu call rakh aur thoda pani pi. Hum baad me baat karenge.
Sana disconnected the call. Sid was scared for Sana. He will have to go to her.
Sana was laying on the floor in the hall. Tired with all the crying. The door bell rang. Let whoever it is go. She is not opening it for anyone. It was one in the afternoon. It was definitely not Zoro. The bell started ringing again and again and again and again. Her head started hammering. She got up to open. She will give whoever it is a good scolding. She thought and opened it. And to her surprise the man who she loves immensely stood in front of her. Sana opened the door and took a few steps back. Sid entered and closed the door behind. Fresh tears started streaming from her eyes. Sid walked to her and took her in his arms and hugged her tight.
Sid: Chal baithe hai vaha.
    He took her to the sofa and they sat down, Sid not removing her from his arms. They sat until Sana has calmed down.
Sid: Pani pina hai??
Sana nodded her head.
Sid: Kaha....
Sana: Vaha dining table....
Sid: Mai lata hu.
     Sid got up and went to the dining table, poured water in a glass and brought it to Sana.
Sid: Le pe le.
    Sana took it from him and drank half the glass. Sid came and sat next to her. He took the glass and drank from it.
Sid: Ghar me koi....
Sana: Koi nhi hai. Zoro field trip pe gaya hai aur Sunita uske cousin ke paas.
Sid: Accha....
     They sat quietly not knowing what to say to each other. Sana then looked at him.
Sana: Tera sar....
Sid: Thek hai sab.
Sana: Par Siddharth...
Sid: Bola na thek hai??
Sana: Siddharth tujhe itni lagi hai. Tu aise halat me yaha kyu aaya?? Tujhe nhi aana chahiye tha.
Sid: Tu kis tarah se ro rahi the jaana?? Mai dar gaya tha. Aise laga tujhe kuch ho jaayega.
Sana: I'm sorry. Khud ko control he nhi kar pa rahi the.
Sid: Tu kyu sorry bol rahi hai meri jaan. Sorry to mujhe bolna chahiye tujhe. Pata nhi kya ho gaya tha mujhe aaj. Jo baate na karne ki kasam khaayi the vo sab nikal gayi. I'm sorry.

Sid: Tera office??
Sana: Teri aise halat dekh kar kaise office jaati. Kya hai yeh Siddharth. Dhyaan kaha tha tera?? Kitni chot lagi hai tujhe. Gaadi thek se chalane nhi aati to chalata kyu hai.
Sid: Abe oye. Bahot acche gaadi chalata hu mai.
Sana: Accha?? Ha vo to nazar aa raha hai.
Sid: Ab kabhi kabaar ho jaata hai.
Sana: Kya hai Siddharth mat kar na aise please. Thoda khayal rakha kar khud ka.
Sid: Hmmm
Sana: Hmmm kya??
Sid: Ha ab shaadi karne wala hu na mai Sheetal se. Vo rakhegi mera khayal.
Sana: Siddharth kuch bhi bakwaas mat kar.
Sid: Tu he boli na mujhe shaadi kar.
Sana: Ha aur uska tune kitna bawaal machaya. Pura trip me ek baat nhi ki mujhse. Mujhe bahot bura laga.
Sid: Aur mujhe shaadi karne bola uska kya??
Sana: Siddharth Tu zindagi aise akele....
Sid: Sana stop. Tu chahti hai mai jaao??
Sana: Nahi.
Sid: Tu fir us baare me kuch mat bol.
Sana: Thek hai nhi bolti. Par tu kahi mat jaa.
    She snuggled into him and he held her closer. They had spend the time preparing lunch, eating, lying on the sofa in each others arms. Making up to the past two days.
It's been a couple of days now. They had come back to their routine. Sid would call in the morning and they would speak late at nights. Sid too was busy with some event shoots. Sana was laying in the bedroom talking to Sid when she heard a beep on her phone. She looked at the screen to see Mahi's number flashing on it.
Sana: Siddharth sun, Mahi di ka call aa raha hai. Mai thodi der me call karti hu.
Sid: Accha thek hai.
    She disconnected the call and dialled Mahi's number.
Sana: Jee di??
Mahi: kya kar rahi the??
Sana:  Kuch Nahi. Vo aise he...
Mahi: Thek hai tu?? Itni der tak jagi bhi hai.
Sana: Ha mai thek hu di. Vaisi bhi kal chutti hai to soocha aaj thoda late tak jagu. .
Mahi: Accha?? To fir kal shaam me ghar aa jaa.
Sana: Kyu??
Mahi: Tere hath ka khana khane ka mann hai.
Sana: Accha?? Thek hai aati hu.
Mahi: Aur sun, Yahi rehne ke hisaab se aa. Baccho ka kal terrace pe tent laga kar sone ka plan hai.
Sana: Di Zoro abhi to aap he ke yaha tha. Ab aur kal bhi....
Mahi: Koi baat nhi. Baccha hai. Abhi abhi tujhse dur rehne ko sikha hai, To usko excitement hai.
Sana: Thek hai. Vo reh jaaye. Mai chali  aaungi.
Mahi: Thek hai dekhte hai. Tu aa to sahi. Aur vaisi bhi tu Siddharth ke ghar kaise pahuchi vo tune mujhe bataya nhi hai ab tak.
Sana: Kal shaam me milte hai di.
     Sana disconnected the call. Sid's call started ringing immediately.
Sid: Kya bol rahi the Mahi??
Sana: Vo kal shaam me Mahi di ke ghar jaa rahi hu.
Sid: Kyu?? To fir mai bhi aaunga.
Sana: Di ne tujhe nhi bulaya.
Sid: Accha?? Abhi dekh mai kya karta hu. Tujhe bhi conference pe leta hu. Par tu kuch bolna mat.
    Sid dialled Mahi number.
Sid: Hi Mahi.... Kya kar rahi hai?? Tara kaisi hai..... Mai sooch raha tha bahot din hua, hum nhi mili.... Chal kal bahar dinner ke liye chalte hai..... Oh accha??..... Nahi rehne de, you guys enjoy...... Accha chal tu ab itna force kar rahi hai to aa jaata hu.
     Sana was laughing by the time Sid disconnected Mahi's call.
Sana: Kitna chant hai tu?? Bichari meri Mahi di.
Sid: Koi chant nhi. Usne khud se invite kiya.
Sana: Invite kiya nhi. Invite karvaya tune khud ko.
Sid: Ha ha jo bhi ho.
Sana: Tu sach me thek hai na Siddharth. Sar me zyada dard nhi hai na??
Sid: Jaana... Mai bilkul thek hu. Tu meri tension mat le. Aur ab jab hum dono ke beech thek hua hai na to aur bhi better feel kar raha hu.
Sana: Hmmm
Sid: Mujhe bilkul accha nhi lagta jab hamare beech zagada ho jaaye.
Sana: I'm sorry.
Sid: I'm sorry too. Jaana ek baat puchu??
Sana: Hmmm??
Sid: Tere pati ka call aata hai ya nhi??
Sana: Haa.... Aata hai na.
Sid: Mujhe kuch ajeeb lagta hai tum dono ke beech.... Sab theek hai na Jaana??
Sana: Ha ha. Sab theek hai... Chal bahot der ho gayi hai. Mai rakhti hu.
Sid: Ok bye.
   It was seven thirty in the evening. Sana and Mahi were in the kitchen. Doing the final dressing. Sana had reached Mahi's place with Zoro and Sunita at six thirty. She had played with Tara for a while and then she and Mahi had went in the kitchen.
Mahi: Chal bata kya chal raha hai tere aur Sid ke beech??
Sana: Shuru ho gaya na aapka?? Kuch nhi chal raha hai. Ek sath kaam kar rahe hai. Sath outdoor jaa rahe hai to thodi dosti ho gayi hai aur kya?? Aur usse to mai aapke shaadi ke time se jaanti hu na??
Mahi: Aisi dosti ki tu uske ghar chali gayi??
Sana: Di usse kuch paper pe sign lene the, aur uska call nhi lag raha tha, isliye jaana pada.
Mahi: Accha?? Chal Tu kehti hai to maan leti hu.
Sana: Ab aap ki interrogation khatam ho gayi ho to vaha fridge me se mujhe sabzee nikaal do.
Mahi: Khatam nhi hua, par jaane de rahi hu. Jo bhi hai vo to pata chal he jaayega.
    Sana knew Mahi had not believed her. And the bell rang at seven thirty. Her heart started hammering in her chest. She heard his voice and a shudder ran through her body. She so wanted to go out to see him, but knew Mahi has an eye on them and she has to be very careful. She can never have enough of this man. She was so happy hearing his voice outside.
    Sid hugged Mahi.
Mahi: Yeh kya hua tere sar ko??
Sid: Are kuch nhi chota sa accident hua tha. I'm fine now.
Mahi: Sure??
Sid: Sure sweetheart. Bahar chalte na dinner ke liye....
Mahi: Are Sana bhi hai. Vo dinner bana rahi hai.
Sid: Accha?? Kya baat hai. Jay kidhar hai.
Mahi: Aata hoga. Kuch saaman lana tha. Chal baith Tu.
Sid: Tara kaha hai??
Mahi: Vo vaha terrace pe hai. Baccho ke sath.
Sid: Accha. I will go and see her...
    Where is his Sana?? He wants to see her. But how??
Mahi: Ruk pani lati hu.
Sid: Ok.
    Mahi went inside and Sid too walked behind her. He reached the kitchen and stood in the doorway. Sana's back was to the door. She and Mahi had not seen him.
Sid: Mahi....
    They both turned around surprised.
Mahi: Haa??
Sid: Ek cup chai milegi??
Mahi: Ha ha. Kyu nhi.
Sid: Hi Sana...
Sana: Hi...
    Their eyes met and Mahi saw it.
Mahi: Sana chai bana Siddharth ke liye.
    They both looked away.
Sana: Thek hai.
    Sid heard footsteps and he looked behind.
Zoro: Siddharth uncle??
    He picked Zoro in his arms and kissed his cheek.
Sid: Hi champ. How are you??
Zoro: I'm fine. Aap bhi aaj hamare sath tent me sooge??
    Mahi was surprised with this encounter. There is a lot more than meets the eye. She thought. Sid looked at Mahi and went red.
Sid: Mahi. I'm on the terrace.
Mahi nodded and Sid left with Zoro still in his arms. Mahi went to Sana and looked at her, hiding her smile.
Sana: Kya??
Mahi: Kuch nhi..... Kyu dekh nhi sakti mai tujhe. Vaise yeh bata Siddharth ko pata tha ke tu yaha hogi??
Sana: Nahi... Nahi to.
Mahi: Accha??
Sana: Yeh lo chai. Aur de do usse.
Mahi: Tujhe dena hai??
Sana: Nahi.
Mahi: Sure??
Sana: Bas kare di...
    Mahi laughed and left, leaving a shy Sana behind.
     Jay and Mahi were surprised at how comfortable Zoro was with Sid. They both were happy for Zoro. Sana knew she will have to tell Mahi everything now. She will as soon as she is alone with her. They all were sitting after dinner on the terrace, when Rajbir came with a painting.
Rajbir: Yeh dekho Siddharth uncle maine painting banayi. Isme mai hu, mama, papa, taara, khushi, hum sab hai.
Sid: Oh wow. Yeh to bahot acchi hai.
Rajbir: Zoro ne bhi banai hai. Zoro tum bhi dekhao.
    Zoro brought his and showed it to Sid.
Sid: Zoro isme to sirf aap ho aur mama hai...
Rajbir: Ha. Kyuki iske papa to nhi hai na.
    Sid thought he had heard it wrong and then he saw Zoro face. There was sadness on his face. He immediately looked at Sana who was sitting on the sofa near the door. There was terror on her face. He looked around to see Jay and Mahi's grim face.
