Haldi & Mehndi.

Sid had taken her on the terrace and locked the door from inside. He had then laid with Sana in his arms.
Sid: Mai nhi maan ne wala. Mai to tujhse milkar he rahunga.
Sana: Siddharth aise mat kar baby...
Sid: Kya aise mat kar.... Aur vaise tu kyu kuch nhi bol rahi hai un sab ko?? Mai he akela pareshaan ho raha hu. Tujhe to kuch padi he nhi hai. Aise lag raha hai sirf mujhe he farak pad raha hai. You are fine with what they are planning na??
Sana: Baby aise nhi hai. Ab hame thoda sab ke khushi ke baare me bhi to soochna chahiye na??

He bend his head and took her soft lips with his. Caressing them, sucking them, licking on them. And then he trust his tongue into her mouth, exploring it. Sana moaned loudly and Sid literally pushed her away from him.
Sana: Siddharth.... Gir jaati mai...
He pulled her to him again and hugged her tightly. Breathing heavily
Sid: Sorry.... Sorry Jaana.... Yaar isse to accha hota ke hum court marriage he karte. This is so damn difficult. Chal baby, chal tujhe tere room me chod du. I'm not able to....
Sana: Nahi. Abhi nhi. Thode der ruk.

Sana giggled and he felt he was the luckiest person in the world. They lay quietly. The silence too felt so good.

They both laughed and Sana gave a peck on his lips.

Sid and Sana walked to Sana's room. She rested her head on his chest.

Sid was having his breakfast with his sisters, brother-in-laws, his nieces, Maa and Zoro the next morning. Zoro was sitting next to his dad.
Sid: Zoro baby chalo jaldi apna breakfast finish karo.
Zoro: Papa mujhe paratha nhi khana hai.
Sid: To kya khana hai baby??
Maa: Siddharth..... Zoro beta apna paratha finish karo. Mama ne kaha hai na aapko thek se breakfast karne ke liye?? Chalo khalo.
Maa eyed Sid and he went quiet. Zoro finished what was on his plate and ran out to play.
Maa: Siddharth, Sana ne kuch rules banaye hai Zoro ke liye. Uske khaane ke, soone ke. Tu aise usse ekdm se change karne ki koshish mat kar.
Sid: Maine aise kya kiya hai Maa?? Ab bacche ko nhi khana hai to...
Maa: Nahi beta, usse healthy cheeze khani chahiye. Uski Maa ne usse bahot acchi se bada kiya hai. Sana kuch kehti nhi hai, iska matlab yeh nhi, ki usse yeh sab khatak ta nhi hai. Vo tera, sab ka lihaaz kar ke chup ho jaati hai. Thoda dhyaan rakh beta.
Sid: Ok Maa.
Adi and Jay came along.
Adi: Aaj ka kya plan hai bhai?? Aaj to tu busy nhi hoga... Sana se dur jo rehna hai...
Sid: Lo jee aa gaya kamina. Bhai teri problem kya hai?? Kyu tu mere jaan ke piche pada hai?? Kiss janam ka badla le raha hai??
Adi: Areee maine kya kiya hai?? Tujhe sirf aaj ka plan puch raha hu.
Preeti: Abhi tum log apna koi plan nhi banana. Siddharth ready rehna. Sana ke taraf se haldi aayegi, jo tujhe lagegi.
Sid: Ok. Thek hai.
Sid got up and went to his room. He felt so empty. No Sana to see, no Sana to speak, no Sana to feel. His life feels colourless without her. He took a bath and got ready. He was to be a married man now. He will have responsibilities. He doesn't want to fail. He wants to give everything to his wife and son. He wants a daughter too. But will not impose anything of Sana. It will be entirely her decision. Oh, how I love that woman. He thought.
Sana was getting ready. Mahi was with her. Sana's maasi entered the room.
Maasi: Sana tayaar ho gayi beta?? Chal tere sasuraal se haldi aa gayi hai. Vo tujhe lag kar wapas jaani hai.
Sana: Wapas kyu??
Maaso: Aree wahi haldi to Siddharth ko lagni hai.
Sana felt her heart flutter in her chest. Siddharth....
Maasi: Mahi, beta.... Le aa usse.
Mahi: Jee maasi.
Maasi left and Mahi looked at Sana. Sana went pink.
Mahi: Accha....madam ko sharam aa rahi hai??

Sana sat on a stool. Preeti and Neetu applied haldi to Sana's face, arms, hands and legs. Adi too was present there. He clicked pics in his mobile. Sana's maami and maasi sang some punjabi folk song. It was too much fun. Some haldi was applied to Zoro too. He was enjoying this.
Sid was asked to sit on the stool, with all the ladies around him.
Sid: Preeti, yeh kya hai. Itni saare log...
Preeti: Ab yeh saare ek ek karke tujhe haldi lagayege . Bada sauk hai na beta shaadi karne ka??
Sid: Hmmm bol lo. Bol lo. Tum logo ka waqt chal raha hai. Par apna time bhi aayega.
Adi: Oyee. Zyada mat bol. Bait chup karke.
Sid: Isse kyu khada kiya hai yaha?? Preeti bhaga isse.
Adi: Ha thek hai chala jaata hu. Par Preeti, bhabhi ki yeh haldi wali pics mere mobile me bahot acchi aayi hai...
Sid: Sana ki pics. Adi... Bhai mere....
Sid saw Mahi, Sana's maasi, maami come towards him. Mahi kept a bowl of haldi in front of him and sat on the floor.
Mahi: Yeh le Siddharth, tere Sana ki jhuti haldi.
Sid: Jhuti haldi?? Matlab??
Mahi: Jhuti haldi matlab, yeh haldi Sana par lagi the, jo ab tujh par lagegi.
Sid felt a tingling sensation inside him. He felt his hand shake. He could not describe this emotion. He also felt tears form at the back of his eyes, but he swallowed to control himself and just nodded. Mahi understood his emotions and took his hand in hers.
Mahi: Shuru kare??
Sid nodded again. Not trusting his voice. Mahi applied haldi to Sid's face. Was this her fragrance too in it. He has gone crazy over that girl. He thought.
Zoro came to Sid and clicked Sid's photo. Sid pulled Zoro to him.
Sid: Aapne meri photo kyu khichi?? Funny lag raha hu na mai??
Zoro shook his head, brought his mouth closer to his dad's ear and spoke softly so that only Sid could hear him.
Zoro: Mama ne kaha tha...
Sid looked at Zoro with surprise. He pulled Zoro again to him as if taking support from him because he was getting emotional and he did not want anyone to see it.
Zoro: Kisi ko batana mat papa.
He said it in his dads ears again. Sid shook his head and Zoro ran away.
Sana has taken a bath and was drying her hair when there was a knock on the door. She opened it to find her papa in front of her.
Sana: Papa....
Papa: Beta.... Kya mai andar aa jaau??
Sana: Ha ha... Aao na papa.
Sana's papa came inside and looked around.
Sana: Baithe na... Kuch kaam tha?? Aap mujhe bula lete??
Papa: Nahi nhi aise....
Mahi entered the room at that moment.
Mahi: Oh uncle.... Mai baad me aati hu...
Papa: Nahi nhi beta. Tu bhi ruk. Kya hum bait kar baat kare??
Sana: Ha ha. Baitho na papa. Di aap bhi.
Sana closed the door and sat next to Mahi.
Papa: Sana maine tere sath bahot galat kiya hai...
Sana: Papa ab yeh baate kyu??
Papa: Bol lene de beta mujhe...
Mahi: Sana.... Uncle bole aap.
Papa: Maine aaj jab tujhe gaate suna to mujhe ehsaas hua ki, mai kitna galat tha. Aur meri galti ki saza tune bhugti hai beta. Mujhe to yeh pata bhi nhi ke tere sath kya hua tha. Rohan ne kya kiya beta tere sath??
Sana went stiff. Her body started shivering.
Mahi: Uncle Sana ke sath bahot kuch hua hai. Sana ne jo kuch saha hai na isse dekh kar humne yeh seekh le hai, ki hamare bacche bhi sahi ho sakte hai. Hum maa baap hai, iska matlab yeh nhi hai, ki hamare bacche hamari jaagir hai. Vo bhi ek insaan hai, jiske armaan aur khwaish ho sakti hai. Unke faisle sahi bhi ho sakte hai aur galat bhi. Agar vo sahi nikle to khush ho jaao. Agar galat nikle to unke sath datt kar khade raho. I'm sorry uncle aapne yeh nhi kiya.
Papa: Tu ekdm sahi keh rahi hai, Mahi beta. Sana ke sath jo bhi hua uska zimmedaar mai he hu.
Sana: Nahi papa aap aise mat kaho. Galtiyaan mujhse bhi hue hai.
Mahi: Ha uncle, Sana bhi thodi galat the iss maamle me. Par ab sab kuch thek hai. Aapne usse maaf kiya usne aapko maaf kiya. Aur kya chahiye. Hai na??
Papa: Siddharth bahot accha insaan hai.
Mahi: Bahot accha uncle. Aur vo iss pagli se bahot zyada pyar karta hai.
Papa: Ha vo to hai. Mahi beta, meri beti ka itna sath dene ke liye bahot bahot sukriya.
Mahi: Aise mat kaho uncle. Sana jitni aapki hai na, utni ab meri bhi. Aur dekho hamaare Sana ka ghar bass gaya.
Tears were streaming down Sana's cheeks. How had she got so lucky. So many people around her, who love her so much. She thanked Lord for this.
Sid was roaming about with haldi on him.
Preeti: Siddharth Tu nahata kyu nhi?? Kab ka bola tujhe jaa kar naha.
Sid: Ha... Ha ha jaa raha hu. Adi kaha hai.
He did not wanted to remove that haldi from himself.
Preeti:Vo vaha bahar lawn me hai.
Adi was sitting scrolling through his mobile.
Sid: Adi apna mobile de.
Adi: Kya?? Kyu??
Sid: Mujhe kuch kaam hai. De.
Adi: Bhai tujhe pata nhi kisi ka mobile mangna bad manners hai??
Sid: De yaar Adi. Pareshaan mat kar.
Adi: Aree mera isme kuch personal ho sakta hai. Aisi kaise de du??
Sid: Saale mere hone wale biwi ke pics tu apne mobile me liye baitha hai, aur apne privacy ke baat karta hai?? Adi jaldi de nhi to bahot maar khaayega.
Adi: Ha thek hai. Thek hai. De raha hu. Ro mat.
Adi gave the mobile and Sid opened the gallery to view the pic of the most beautiful woman in the world. She looked bewitching. Oh God. He just wanted to go and take her in his arms and kissed her until she moans. He went hard as the thought entered his head. Sid gave the mobile back to Adi and stood up.
Adi: Abe kya hua?? Kaha jaa raha hai??
Sid: Nahane.... Aur yeh sab pics mujhe bhej mere mobile pe.
Sid rushed to his bathroom and stood under the cold shower until his body had cooled down. He stepped out, a towel wrapped around his waist and went to the window. And he saw her. Strolling in the lawn, wearing a green salwaar kurti. She was looking so delicate. He wanted to collect her in his arms and keep her there forever. Protected. Sid then remembered he was told not to see her and so he was about to take a step back, when he saw her wiping her eyes. She was wiping her tears. Why?? Why was she crying?? What has happened?? He turned around, threw some clothes on himself and rushed out of his room towards the lawn, forgetting about the promise he had given to Sana that he will try to keep himself away from her for two days.
When he reached the garden, Sana was not there. He rushed inside the house and found Neetu coming towards him.
Sid: Neetu Sana ko kya hua hai??
Neetu: Sana ko??
Sid: Ha Neetu Sana ko...
Neetu: Kaha kuch hua hai?? Vo theek to hai. Kyu??
Sid: Vo ro rahi the...
Neetu: Nahi to... Vo nhi...
Sid: Chod. Tujhe nhi pata.... Vo kaha hai iss waqt.
Neetu: Vo sab ladies ke beech me baithe hai. Uski mehndi ki kuch rasam chal rahi hai. Aur uske baad usse mehndi lagane aurte aayi hai.
Sid knew he could not go in between those ladies and ask her, nor will she be able to say anything, even if he goes. He was pacing the floor when Jay and Shehbaaz entered.
Jay: Kya hua bhai?? Itna pareshan kyu hai??
Sid: Jay Sana abhi thodi der pehle ro rahi the. Maine usse abhi apne room se lawn me dekha. Vo ro rahi the.
Jay: Ro rahi the?? Par kyu??
Sid: Shehbaaz tujhe pta hai??
Shehbaaz: Nahi bhai mujhe nhi pata.
Sid: Jay mujhe pata lagana hai.
Jay: Siddharth aise kuch major nhi hoga. Tu itna kyu tension le raha hai.
Sid saw Preeti come from the Hall, where the mehndi function was going on.
Preeti: Yeh kya ho raha hai??
Sid: Preeti mujhe Sana se baat karni hai.
Preeti: Siddharth tujhe kaha hai na, ke tujhe dur rehna hai Sana se. Tujhe samaj nhi aata kya??
Sid: Preeti, dekh, mujhe sirf ek baat puchni hai, fir mai chala jaunga.
Preeti: Not possible.
Jay: Bhai, bhai sun meri baat. Tu relax kar thoda. Hum dekhte hai kya kar sakte hai.
Sid and Jay went to the garden and sat there. Sid saw Shehbaaz come out of the house.
Shehbaaz: Vo ladies ka function ho gaya.
Sid: Sana kya kar rahi hai Shehbaaz??
Shehbaaz: Vo uss terrace wale room me mehndi lagva rahi hai.
Sid: Mai jaa raha hu, usse milne.
Jay: Aree, Aree ek minute, ek minute...
Adi came along with Arun.
Adi: Kya hua?? Kaha jaa raha hai yeh??
Sid: Isse bhi abhi he aana tha. Ab bakwas karega sala.
Jay: Adi Sid ne dekha ke yaha lawn me Sana thode time pehle ro rahi the. So he wants to know why?? Aur vo usse milne jaana chahta hai.
Adi: Siddharth....
Sid: Adi please yaar. Ek baar bass jaan lu. Then I promise, mai tum log jo bologe vahi karunga.
Adi: Accha... Accha theek hai chal. Shehbaaz Tu Sana ko terrace par le aa. Hum Sid ko uss ladder se upar terrace par bhejte hai.
Shehbaaz: Thek hai.
Shehbaaz rushed inside and Jay, Adi and Sid walked to the ladder.
Sid: Jay pehle Tu chad. Mai tere piche chadta hu.
Jay: Ok.
Jay climbed the ladder. As he climbed midway towards the terrace, he looked up to find Mahi standing leaning to the railing looking down at them. Jay looked at Mahi's angry face and his legs started shaking.
Jay: Sid.....Abee niche uttar....
Sid: Jay tu itna pair kyu hila raha hai, bewakoof, puri ladder hil rahi hai. Hum gir jaayenge.
Jay: Abee saale tujhe niche uttar bol raha hu. Samaj nhi aa raha hai kya??
Sid: Par kyu??
Jay: Upar dekh.
Sid looked up and Jay lost his balance. Sid and Jay both hit the ground. Jay over Sid. Sid pushed Jay aside and sat up to see Mahi's fuming face.
Sid: Saale idiot, itna kya darta hai??
Jay: Abee, dekh udhar upar. Kaise dekh rahi hai vo. Jaise mata aa gayi ho usme.
Sid stood up and dusted himself.
Sid: Bahot ho gaya. Ab mai to direct jaakar milunga.
Sid walked to the house and climbed the stairs two at a time. He came to the door and banged on it. Mahi opened it and stood in the doorway, not allowing him to look inside.
Mahi: Kya hai Sid??
Sid: Mahi, vo thodi der pehle lawn me roo rahi the. Bas mujhe ek baar pata lagana hai, kyu?? Fir mai chala jaaunga. Vo royi kyu Mahi??
Mahi: Roo rahi the?? Nahi to.
Sid: Maine dekha Mahi usse.
Mahi turned and told the girls who were applying mehndi to Sana, to excuse them for five minutes. The girls left the room. Sana had heard Sid's voice. So he had seen her cry. And he was stressed about it. Oh. How much this man loves her. She heard Sid and Mahi's conversation. She wanted to get up, go and hug him. Tight. But she can't. She had promised herself that she will do as the elders want her to do.
Mahi: Sana, Sid keh raha hai ke, usne tujhe rote hue dekha. Kya tu ro rahi the??
Sana: Ha di. Par vo khushi ke aasu the. Mai bahot khush hu, ke mai uski hone wali hu.
Mahi saw Sid getting emotional.
Mahi: Chal aaja. Mil le tu usse. Tum dono ko ek dusre se alag rakhna bahot mushkil hai.
Sid: Nahi... Rehne de. Mujhe bass yahi jaan na tha ke vo royi kyu?? Kyuki uske roni ki wajah bhi mujhe pata honi chahiye. Ab jab uss se sun liya, to mujhe tasalli ho gayi. Bye Mahi.
Saying that he left the room feeling overwhelmed with what Sana has said.
