Chapter 11

(Jessica's P.O.V)
The Valentines dance was here. Mikey asked me to the dance by spelling out "dance?" In hockey pucks at the rink while I was teaching him to skate. So the dress I went with was a stunning royal purple Sherri Hill with beading. So I went to Melissa's house with the rest of the girls to get ready. Us getting ready consisted of jokes, pictures, and testing out makeup colors and shades. So after a few hours of make up and hair the guys arrived and we took our pictures and got into the cars.
"You look stunning" Mikey said just kinda gazing at me." You look pretty good your self"I said looking him up and down."I'm really happy you asked me to the dance" I said putting my hand over his."I'm happy you said yes to being mine"he said blushing and with that we where off to the dance. It's not your causal gym school dance. No it's a dance at a field looking I've over the bay. It was such a pretty sight.
I spotted Calum and walked over but he just stared at me like I was a different person. "Hey Cal" I said smiling."You-you look stunning" he said just staring at me. I felt a blush creeping on my cheeks. "Is someone blushing"he said nudging me. "Hey look who's talking"I said pushing him. He started laughing at me and I started laughing with him." Um Jess can I tell you something..." He said pulling me away from where people where dancing and pulled me over to a bench."Yeah sure Calum anything" Is said looking at him. "I have needed to tell you this for awhile now..."He said holding my hand."Cal I think I know what your gonna tell me" I said.He looked at me like he was heart broken and completely and utterly destroyed.We just sat there in silence and he pulled his hand away."Jess I'm sorry for all of this I never wanted it to go this way" he said having a tear fall from his eye."Cal don't cry please" I said trying to hold his hand but he just pulled away.
"How can I not cry your dating one of my best friends,you never hang out with me anymore and it's like I was replaced by Michael"He said a few more tears streaming down his face."Calum,"I said wiping his tears,"I'm so so so sorry that happened I guess I didn't notice, Your my best friend in the whole world and I feel so so shitty right now, I promise that instead of going to the after dance we can go to your house and hang out just you and me does that sound good." I said trying to keep myself from crying and obviously he noticed. "Don't cry over someone that doesn't mean anything to you"he said more tears streaming his face."Calum don't say that you mean everything to me,I don't know where I would be without you"I said letting one tear fall ."Jess I know you,"he said one tear streaming down his face, but I held his hand and didn't let go which made him look down at our hands,"I know your happy with Michael but, I can't just keep pretending that I'm happy with the boys you decide to date, when I know I could treat you the best"he said looking into my eyes."Calum I know you to, you care a lot about me, in fact you where there when no one else was I care a lot about you and I couldn't live without you being in my life" I said having more tears fall from my face.Boy am I glad I wore water proof makeup tonight.
"Jess I need to ask you something that would usually kill me but right now I don't know if I can feel any worse"he said." Anything in the world Cal"I said squeezing his hand."Why would you want me to stay if you replaced me with Mikey?" He said looking me right in the eye."I never meant for that to happen and I want things to go back to how they used to be when I would just stay the night at your house randomly because it was already past midnight"I said looking him in the eye."You really want things to go back to the way they where"he said squeezing my hand."Yes with all my heart" I reply,I fell so vulnerable that he might break me even more."Okay then we will"he said smiling."REALLY!"I replied attacking him but not meaning to I kissed him on the cheek.He started blushing a bright pink." I'm sorry about that"I said turning away."Yes really it can go back to the way it was"he said smiling and squeezing my hand.So after that we went back to the dance and did what we where supposed to do we danced our hearts out.
Then Kayleigh and Leah started acting strange so I smelled there drinks and smelled the alcohol.Someone spiked them.So I told Niall and Harry and they took Kayleigh and Leah back to there houses because they're moms thought they where staying at Melissa's house."Hey are you going home after or are we going to mine?"Mikey asked as he pulled me in for a quick kiss.
"Actually Mikey I was gonna go to Cal's because we haven't hung out in awhile" I replied. "But I had some plans for tonight"he said slipping his hand just a little under the hem of my skirt."Mikey you know I don't do that kind of stuff"I said pushing him so his hand was out from the hem."But maybe just for me?"he said whispering in my ear."I'm sorry but no not tonight I'm just not ready" I said looking down at my shoes.
