'The Truth Will Out'

With only a few hours to get ready for their performance, the ghosts gathered at the piano, deciding on their final songs.

Luke took to circling the final song with a sharpie, "Julie and I were thinking we'd start with 'Stand Tall'."

"Perfect," Alex pushed away from the piano.

"Sounds good," Reggie gave him a thumbs up, his eyes glued to the floor.

"Sounds good?" Luke questioned. "Guys, wake up! I wanna hear 'It sounds awesome.' I know this isn't how we wanted things to turn out but we gotta be all in tonight. This is our second chance at playing the Oprheum!"

"I-I get it, but it's hard," Reggie frowned. "Do we even know what's on the other side when we crossover? Do we all still get to hang together? You . . . you guys are the only family I have."

Beverly refrained from placing a hand on his shoulder, and turned to Luke, "If the circumstances were different, we'd be cheering with you. It's just . . . we got attached."

"And we don't know what's gonna happen either, but . . . it's not like we have a choice," Alex added.

Rocked by another jolt, Beverly reached out for the piano and set her hands on the lid. Reggie slid his jacket up his sleeve and held his wrist, "I'm pretty sure we do. And it rhymes with the Hollywood Ghost Club."

Before they could respond the double barn doors were pulled back by Julie, "What's wrong?"

"Yeah. We just got rocked pretty hard by one of those jolt things," Alex chuckled weakly.

"Pretty sure I ghost peed a little," said Reggie, earning a grimace from Beverly.

"But we're fine," Luke added quickly.

"Actually, guys, I'm a little nervous," she fidgeted with the bracelets wrapped around her wrists. "Luke, uh, can I talk to you for a second?"

Luke glanced at the rest of his band mates, who looked away awkwardly, except for Bev, who gave him a small push toward the sixteen-year-old. He shot her a deadly glare and continued toward Julie.

"I'll be in the loft," Alex whispered, poofing out before they could even process his words.

They stood awkwardly for a moment, before Reggie turned suddenly, "C-Can we talk?"

She raised her gaze from the floor to meet his, "What's up?"

"Not here," he mumbled, taking her wrist and dragging her towards the plants. "We've been friends for a long time, and I don't want that to change, but . . ." he struggled to find the right words, "I need to say this. So, please just listen."

She was stunned into silence, this was one of the few times she'd ever seen Reggie so serious, not to mention the fact that he'd never been so assertive.
