Remus was rudely awoken one morning in one of the nicest and rudest ways possible. His red sheeted comforter was thrown off of him, exposing his entire body to the cool air. His eyes squinted due to the bright sunlight and once he opened his eyes fully, tons of people cheered.

The sandy-haired boy grabbed his pillow and held it over his head in an attempt to block out the overly loud noise, only for someone to grab his pillow and throw it across the room with a small thump. "It's too early for this, Prongs. For the hundredth time, I am not going to perform Dancing Queen with you and Sirius," Remus grumbled lazily, his eyes shut.

"Oh come on," James sighed dramatically. "Just think about it though."

"Shut up, Potter," a voice hissed angrily. Remus' eyes fluttered open again and he suddenly sat upright in his head. He rubbed his eyes groggily with one hand and used the other to fix his hair at the same time.

"What the bloody hell is Lily doing..." Remus trailed off and stared back at all of the 6th year Gryffindors, including Caroline. "Why are all of you in my dorm?"

Lily was the closest to him and she held a small circular cake that was decorated with white and blue frosting and rainbow sprinkles. The cake read 'Happy 17th Birthday Remus!' and there was a single candle on the top.

"Don't tell me you forgot about your birthday.. again," James sighed. "This is the most important day of your life and you always forget it! We should just throw you a surprise party and you wouldn't even know what it was for."

"Potter, I already told you to shut up like four times today and I've only seen you for five minutes so far," Lily huffed in an annoyed tone. "Shut up! You can't just insult someone on their birthday!"

"How am I ins-"

"Happy birthday, Moony!" Sirius piped up. Everyone began to sing to him and a banner unraveled from the ceiling of the Marauders' dorm, which read 'Happy 16th' in large letters and 'birthday! I don't understand why they don't put the birthday part' in small curly letters on the bottom.

Once they finished, Remus found himself smiling at his cake. He closed his eyes and blew out his candle, wishing for something that he already had.

---------------

"What do you want to do today, Moony? We can do anything you'd like," James offered. "We can throw a huge party but if you don't want a party, we can just read books with you."

"Yeah," Sirius agreed. "I know it doesn't seem like it because we're borderline failing in most of our classes but we can read too, y'know. I've read that muggle author, I forgot his name. Doctor... Doctor... the one who did those cool poems, what's his name?"

"Dr. Suess?" Remus asked.

Sirius grinned and clapped his hands when he found the answer. "Yes, I've read Dr. Suess before! I thought his poems were very sophisticated yet easy to read."

"That's because they're meant for children," the werewolf snorted. "I don't need you guys to read with me but that's a nice offer. I think I'm just gonna spend the day with someone special."

"Well how do you want to spend the day-"

"Not you, Sirius."

"Oh. Oh! Dream girl?"

"Yes. Dream girl. Which means I get the map," Remus said. He held his hand out and Sirius let out a sigh before pulling the parchment out of his pocket. "Thank you."

"I don't understand why we can't know who she is," Sirius muttered.

"Calm down, we're going public in a few days," the werewolf replied. He smiled again and put the map into the pocket of his khakis. "A few days. I'll be able to kiss her in public in a few days, isn't that wonderful?"
