"I love Divination," Caroline announced happily.
"I don't understand how you can. Professor Trelawney is an absolute nutter," Sirius stated. Since neither of them were idiots who wanted to take a hard class like Ancient Ruins or a class that takes up your free time like Astronomy, they both chose to take Divination.
Sirius climbed up the ladder and Caroline went after. Wow, that is a nice ass, Caroline thought. Wait, stop staring at his ass.
Caroline looked at the ladder instead of Sirius and they arrived in the classroom. "Yes, crystal balls," Caroline exclaimed in triumph. Sirius slung his arm over Caroline's shoulders and groaned.
"This is so dumb. I can never see anything in those stupid things," Sirius said.
"Don't worry, Sirius. I can see your future for you," Caroline said. They sat on pillows on the floor that happened to be right next to each other.
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot you were a Seer," Sirius mocked. Professor Trelawney came into the classroom and began explaining the directions. Sirius was tired of Professor Trelawney's talking so he put his large hands on the crystal ball and closed his eyes.
He saw him and Caroline sitting next to each other, across from Lily and James. They didn't look much older than they did now, maybe 20 or 21. All four of them had rings on so Sirius assumed that they were all married. Each one of them had a plate of pasta in front of them and he couldn't hear the conversation but both him and James looked at a loss for words. Caroline and Lily high-fived and then he saw himself get up and drag Caroline along with him.
Sirius' grey eyes snapped open and he looked at the blonde girl resting her head on his shoulder. "Did you see anything?" Caroline asked.
"Yeah," Sirius answered. He tried his best to hide his huge smile. He was married to Caroline in the future. It couldn't get any better than that. "Okay, now your turn," Sirius insisted.
Caroline smiled, causing Sirius' lips to tug upwards as well. She lifted her head from Sirius' shoulder and put her pale hands on the crystal ball. Caroline closed her eyes and tried to look into the future.
She saw herself ten or fifteen years from now, walking in the empty corridors of Hogwarts. A young girl with light blonde hair saw her and hugged her tightly. Future Caroline kissed the girl's cheek and the small girl returned it. She saw the resemblance of herself in the girl. The crystal blue eyes, the pale skin, the dainty figure. "Luna!" another girl called towards her.
The small girl waved goodbye to Future Caroline and ran off, leaving Caroline smiling to herself. Her blue eyes snapped open and she felt her smile growing bigger. "I've got a child," Caroline said to Sirius.
Sirius grinned along with her, assuming that it was their child. "Do you know who the father is?" Sirius asked.
"Nope," Caroline answered, popping the 'p'.
---------------
Marlene and Caroline walked past Madam Puddifoots but then both took several simultaneous steps backwards. They peered into the window and saw all four Marauders sitting in two couple tables together. Marlene and Caroline exchanged knowing glances and Marlene wiggled her eyes suggestively.
Caroline opened the door for Marlene and the girl put her hand on her chest dramatically. "Chivalry is still alive," Marlene gasped, causing Caroline to giggle.
They both walked in and took the table next to Sirius' and James'. "I knew you guys were close but I never knew you swung that way," Marlene said jokingly.
"We're obviously not here together," James scowled. "I want to look out for Lily. Diggory is dangerous."
"James, he's a bloody Hufflepuff. He's no real threat. Why can't you just let Lily go off on her own without you babysitting her?" Caroline sighed.
"Because I can't," James snapped. "Quick, Marlene, switch seats with Sirius."
Neither of them asked questions as they switched seats so Marlene was sitting across from James and Caroline was sitting across from Sirius. "What can I get you, dears?" Madam Puddifoot asked.
Caroline opened her mouth to tell the kind owner that they weren't staying but Sirius spoke first. "Two black coffees, please."
Madam Puddifoot nodded and walked off. Caroline turned towards Sirius and frowned slightly. "What was that for? I don't want to be stuck here babysitting James who thinks he's babysitting Lily," Caroline complained.
"Relax, princess. You're gonna be here a while anyways," Sirius said and nodded his head towards the other table. Caroline turned towards James' table and shook her head when she saw James intertwining his hands with Marlene's.
"I know jealousy doesn't work on all people but Lily's always had a short temper so I told James to make her jealous," Sirius explained. "So we should be here until Lily storms out or until she finishes her date."
"And how much longer do you think that'll be?"
"I'd say," Sirius paused and lifted the sleeve of his jacket slightly. He pretended to look at a watch and glanced at Caroline, who was stifling her laughter. "15 minutes or so?"
Madam Puddifoot came back with the coffees and set them down at the small table. Caroline took a sip of the coffee and her attention drifted towards Lily. Lily must've seen her too because the redhead pointed to James and then mouthed 'out now'.
The blonde nodded in response. She waved at Marlene and pointed towards James then the door then imitated a gun with her fingers and put it to her head, then pointed back towards Lily.
"You know what, James?" Marlene asked. "I don't think getting Lily jealous is the best option. Why don't we just go to Honeydukes because that's where they'll probably go next?"
James smiled brightly and pushed his glasses up higher on the bridge of his nose. "That's a brilliant idea, Marlene! Okay, we gotta go now!" James said, shooting out of his chair.
James grabbed Marlene's hand and dragged the poor girl out of Madam Puddifoots, much to Marlene's dislike. Caroline stood up as well but Sirius grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to her seat. "You've hardly touched your coffee, Care. Why don't we just sit here a bit longer?" Sirius suggested.
Caroline nodded and took another sip of her coffee. "Are you alright?" Peter asked Remus. Peter pointed towards Remus' hand and Remus himself just noticed that he had crumpled the napkin so tightly that it was a small, compact ball. He dropped the napkin and spread it out in an attempt to calm himself.
"Just dandy," Remus responded coldly. "Let's go make sure James doesn't do anything stupid." Remus and Peter left Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop and Sirius and Caroline continued talking.
"Omigod, I just realized that they left us with the check," Caroline gasped. The blonde glanced at the other Marauders' unfinished drinks and searched her pockets. "I don't have any money left. Marlene and I spent all our money on Honeydukes before we came here."
Sirius dug around inside his leather jacket and his grey eyes widened. "I don't have any money either," he realized aloud.
"What are we supposed to do now?"
Sirius turned around to see if Madam Puddifoot was looking, which she was not. Sirius stood and Caroline followed his lead. The Black boy threw his arm around Caroline's small shoulders and they left the shop very quickly.
Madam Puddifoot noticed the empty seats and ran out of the shop. "Hey! Get back here!" she called.
"Shit," Sirius whispered. "Care, run!"
They both ran down the streets and pushed past people until they couldn't see Madam Puddifoot anymore. Caroline was out of breath but still managed to giggle lightly. "Do you suppose we're banned?"
"Oh, most definitely," Sirius laughed.
