it's been 4 weeks since mattia and i talked. turns out he is in a relationship with mina but it's whatever.
"hey" kairi says coming up to me
"hello there friend" i say smiling
"wanna go eat out with us tonight?" he asks
"uhh define us"
"you,me,alejandro,ava,mattia, and his gf"
"nope" i say "not going"
"y/n come on pleaseeeee" he says "i don't wanna be a fifth wheel and i know you and mattia aren't friends anymore but please"

"fine" i say "but i am NOT driving in the same car with them"

he kisses me on the cheek and leaves
"what was that about" ava asks coming up to me
"he convinced me to be his date to your guys stupid hang out" i answer
"it can't be that bad" ava says
"we haven't talked to each other in 4 weeks" i tell her "it'll be awkward"
"i'm convinced it won't" she says

skip to the hangout
"hi y/n" mina says opening her arms
"hey mina!!" i say hugging her back
i pull away and make eye contact with mattia. we both smile at each other awkwardly.
"let's do this" ava says excited
kairi opens the door for everyone and holds it
"see that wasn't that bad" he says as i walk in
"it's awkward tho" i whisper "this is why i didn't wanna come"
"i'm pretty sure you guys will warm up to each other while we're eating" he whispers back
"why are you guys whispering" ava asks
"nothing mind your business stupid" he says
"mhm" she says
after a few minutes we get seated down and they take our orders.
"so uh how's your relationship going with mattia" alejandro asks
ava looks at me and then alejandro.
"i'm fine" i mouth to ava
"it's going great really" she says smiling grabbing his hand "he's definitely something else"
"how are you guys" she asks alejandro
"we're doing very well actually" he says smiling "can't imagine my life without her"
"awww" i coo
"how bout you?" mina asks me "how are you and kairi"
"what" i say "me and kairi are friends"
she laughs "omg i'm so sorry. you guys just seem so close"
i look at mattia and i can tell he's uncomfortable.
"yea we're just close like that" kairi speaks "been friends since middle school"
