Bradley stared at me with a smile on his face. Instead of commenting on his dish, I took another bite. I moaned as the burst of flavours erupted me in my mouth. It was probably the best Paella I've had in my entire life.
He chuckled, "Come on. You're making me anxious."
I chewed the seasoned rice slowly, then swallowed. I lifted my hands, "Wait, I still have to taste the Chorizo and the shrimp." As I spoke, I picked up the chorizo with the fork and placed it in my mouth. Then I tried the shrimp. They were both cooked to perfection.
"So? How was it?"
I chewed slowly to savour the moment, and when I was finished, I looked at him with a serious face.
"Are you looking for a wife?"
He burst out in laughter and held his belly. I continued eating as his laughter died down.
"It's that good?"
I nodded my head because my mouth was full.
Yes, his Paella was that good.
Is there anything this man isn't good at?
He chuckled then started eating. There was no doubt left in my mind about Bradley Mefford's cooking skills. If he made every dish he cooked taste this good, I don't mind letting him cook for the rest of my time here.
We eat in silence for the rest of the evening, mostly because I was too tuned into the meal to even uphold a conversation.
Brad insisted on doing the dishes, although he was the one who cooked the meal. He didn't seem to mind me watching him wash the dishes either.
Oh boy, was it a sight for me?
Who would have thought that I'd be in a situation like this?
None of my short-lived exes ever cooked for me or felt the need to wash the dishes after we've eaten.
I slapped this man across his face, and he didn't even retaliate. Although he kinda deserved it for kidnapping me, I shouldn't have done it. If it was any other man, then lord knows what might have happened.
Bradley Mefford is different.
If only we had met in different circumstances.
Girl, he wouldn't even look at you. A voice in the back of my head said, and she was probably right. Brad and I are from two different social classes, and our chances of meeting were one to none.
"Do you wanna watch a movie?" Brad asked as he folded the dishtowel.
I nodded my head, "Sure."
He placed the dishtowel on the counter and turned to look at me. "We can Netflix and Chill."
I giggled and shook my head. I'm not sure he knows the meaning of the phrase he just said. "I'm not sure if you understand what the phrase, 'Netflix and Chill' really means."
He chucked then winked, and my heart did a cartwheel.
Then he said, "I'm just kidding."
I screamed mentally, then gave him my biggest fake smile.
He definitely knows how to break a girl's heart in a second.
Bradley grabbed a bag of tortilla chips from the cupboard and a dip. He also took out some chocolates from one of the cupboards.
"Let's go." We walked to the drawing-room in silence, but my mind was elsewhere. I took a seat while Bradley set up the television. When he found Netflix, he asked me what I'd like to watch, but I can't him the option to choose. I'm not really picking when it comes to selecting movies; I'll watch everything except horror. Those movies scare the hell out of me and are just downright creepy.
