I looked between my father and Bradley in panic. My father is a black Bahamian man, he's bound to be curious and ask questions. That's why I wanted Bradley gone before my parents arrive. Now it's way too late to avoid the storm that was coming.

I cleared my throat, "Well, this is..." Possibilities of lies flashed through my mind but nothing of them seemed good.

"I'm Bradley," Bradley said breaking my silence. He lifted his hands to my father to shake.

My father looked down at Bradley's hand before taking it in his. He shook it but didn't let go afterwards, "Bradley?" he frowned. "I've heard that name before."

"Oh I know!" my mother jumped in. Her eyes were bright with a smile on her face. "We spoke to you on the phone. You're Tiffy's boyfriend."

My eyes widen at my other's word. "My what?"

My mother didn't seem to hear me as she continued speaking, "You took her out to Pennsylvania for a Romance getaway last week. It's good to finally meet you." She smiled up at him. "We've never met any of Tiffany's boyfriends so this is a real pleasure."

I looked at my father's emotionless face waiting for him to say something but he remained silent.

Not good.

Bradley smiled, "Tiffany is a real charm."

"That's our Tiffany." my father said beaming with pride. "She's always been special to us." I knew by the tone of his voice that his words were not to be taken lightly.

"You should have lunch with us." my mother said.

"What?" I shook my head quickly. "Actually Bradley was just leaving. He has to get back to work." There is no way in hell I'm going to although Bradley interrupted our perfectly planned lunch date as a family.

"Actually, today is Saturday so I'm free. No work for me. I'd love to have lunch with you."

I turned my eyes to Bradley to show him exactly what I was thinking but his eyes were trained on my mother.

My mother clapped her hands together. "Great. I can't wait to learn more about you." She took a quick look behind her and then back at Bradley.  "We're having lunch at Rick's Cafe. Do you drive?"

Bradley nodded. "That's my Porsche that you blocked in."

I looked at the grey Porsche that belonged to Bradley and my god does it scream wealthy. It was probably one of the slickest cars I'd ever seen.

My mother blushed, ashamed. "Terrance thought that we would be in and out quickly. Sorry."

"It's okay."

"Nice car you got there." My father said staring at the car. "Those rims are fire."

Bradley chuckled. "Thanks. I got them customized by a friend of mine."

My father nodded. "It's beautiful. I'm more of a Ferrari fan but this is beautiful. How fast does it go?"

Bradley chuckled. "As fast as I want."

My dad chuckled. "I've been thinking about buying something fast for my fiftieth. But Teresa says I'm too old for that. I'll probably settle for a Cadillac Eldorado Convertible."

"Those are pretty good too. My father has a blue one parked in his garage, said it belonged to my grandfather."

"Nice. I've been looking all over for one but people around here don't drive Cadillacs and if they have one they're not giving it up."

Bradley chuckled, "Understandable. Those cars are legendary."

I couldn't believe the scene in front of me. Was my father actually smiling at Bradley?  Were they becoming friends?  No, I can't allow that to happen.
