I looked at Bradley and frowned. "Why would my would my family come?"

Norma laughed. "Oh silly, for your engagement dinner."

"Engagement dinner?" I looked at Bradley with raised eyebrows. "I thought this dinner was for me to get to know your family before we made any major decisions."

He shrugged. "You said we could get married if my family likes you. My family likes you." He turned to his family, "Don't you guys like her?"

"Of course, we like you." they all spoke simultaneously.

"We've never seen Bradley so in love before, so happy." his mother inserted.

"We've never seen Bradley in love at all," Caleb added.

"Trust me, he's completely smitten with you. He could barely focus at work the week after  you guys returned." Luke spoke.

"If you make Bradley happy then we're happy to have you in the family," Ashton said.

"Bradley is 100% sure he wants you to be his wife and he wants it as soon as possible. That's why this is an engagement dinner.  Don't be angry at him because he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. He loves you and even though we don't know you that well, we trust Bradley's decision and we can tell you're going to make him happy and so for that, we love you too." Micheal spoke with such conviction that I had no reason to question his words. "Do you love our son?"

I nodded. "Yes. I do." I glanced at Bradley and my heart jumped. "I really do."

Norma laughed. "Then that's all the confirmation we need and apparently your parents already agree with your relationship so there is no problem for us celebrating an engagement."

"I guess you're right. I'm just..." before I could continue a loud chirp flowed through the house.

"That must be your parents. I'll go get them." Bradley volunteered.

"I'll go with you, son," Micheal added and they both turn to leave the room.

"Boys, why don't you go introduce yourself to the Smiths. Tiffany and I will be out there in a few. The guest can go directly to the dining table, everything is already set." Her sons nodded and left the room leaving us alone.

"Come on, let me tell you something about Bradley." Norma pulled me towards her and we sank into a comfortable sofa. She grasped my hands in hers. "I can tell that you're worried but you shouldn't be. It's never easy marrying into a family that has a completely different culture than yours. My brother had to leave town because he chose to marry a black woman. I hated how my parents treated them like outcasts but that's how it was back then. Interracial couples were not readily accepted and it was hard. You don't have to worry about that with us. We will love you no matter the colour of your skin and Bradley loves you too. Very much and he'll never hurt you. Please don't hurt him."

I shook my head, "I won't."

She smiled. "Good. Now, can you tell me the name of that perfume you're wearing? You smell heavenly."

I laughed. "It's called, "You're the one", Bath and Body Works."

"I'm putting that on my list of things to get." She laughed. "Come on. It's time for me to meet the woman who gave birth to just a beautiful young miss." We stood from the sofa and she laced her hands with mine at the elbows then we walked out of the room together.

We met with the others in the passage. Surprisingly Mia was also among the group. After greeting my parents I turned to Mia. "I didn't know you were going to be here."
