"It was a pleasure having you guys over for dinner."

I smiled at Howard, "Thanks for having us. The dinner was lovely. I see where Hannah gets her skills from.."

The older man chuckled and looked at Bradley. "I like her, don't let her go."

"I won't," Bradley responded without hesitation.

I looked at him silently, wishing his words were true.

For heaven's sake, Tiffany, you're his hostage. He'll be releasing you as soon as the air blows down.

Why would you even want him to keep you?

"Because I have feelings for him." A voice in the back of my mind said.

No, no, no.

Not good.

"Oh darling, it's getting late, and they must be exhausted. They've been here for almost four hours." Hannah stated.

I looked at the clock on the way, not believing that we've been here so long. "I didn't even notice," I whispered.

Howard smiled, "Yes, time flies when you're having fun."

"I can attest to that." Bradley chuckled. He stood from the couch, "Thanks for making us dinner, Howard."

"That's not a problem, son. We love the company."

"We certainly do. Now you know our story. Next time you'll be doing all the talking."

I smiled at her. Although Hannah and her husband had spent most of the evening talking about their life as a couple and what they went through, I didn't seem to mind. I enjoyed all of Howard's stories. He was a funny guy, and he was a genuinely good person. They both were.

"It's good listening to you talk about your lives. It teaches me to appreciate more in life. I'm way too spoiled." Bradley said.

I chuckled, "You are." I said, looking at him. Only a spoilt person would think kidnapping someone is okay; maybe spoilt was an understatement. I looked at the couple, "He is rotten. He has so much to learn."

He placed his hands out to me, "And you shall teach me."

I shrugged and placed my hands in his, "They're some things you just have to learn on your own." I stood from the couch and looked at the couple sitting across the room.

Hannah chuckled, "Oh, the bickering of young couples."

Howard laughed, "Like we don't bicker every day. Every morning, she nags me, saying, "Howard, no sugar. Howard, you can't eat any more chocolate. Howard the doctor said...." The bickering never stops even after thirty years of marriage; they just change themes."

I smiled. "I don't bicker."

Bradley snorted. "Right."

"I don't." I defended. I knew what he was thinking, but those times weren't bickering. I was angry and frustrated about his actions.

The same actions didn't seem to matter anymore.

"You can't say your actions weren't crazy because it was. Normally people don't do that stuff."

He shrugged, "I guess I'm not normal then."

I snorted.

"Oh children, let's not get into it now. Not after just a lovely dinner." Hannah said

"I wasn't going to argue with him." I protested.

"I wasn't going to argue with her," Bradley added.

Howard chuckled, "That's right, son. Never argue with women."
