"Here let me help you with that, yeah?" Grayson said as he swung my purse over his shoulder on a Saturday afternoon.
I was going on this little date thing like I promised. Boy I felt like throwing up as Hayes creeped into my mind.
"Does the ice cream shop sound okay or do you wanna go to a restaurant or-"
"Ice cream's fine" I smiled as he helped me onto his mom's van. Grayson wasn't old enough to drive just yet
"Hi Mrs. Dolan" I greeted her and she replied with a small wave and asking How I'd been doing.
For the rest of the ride we made small talk and I looked out the window.
Things seemed so much boring without Hayes here, everything was normal though.. but I mean who likes normal? I want crazy.
"Thanks mom. I'll call you to pick us up, love you " Grayson sais as he helped me out of the car as we arrived at the ice cream parlor
Walking with crutches was getting a bit easier but I missed walking.
A blonde teenage girl took our order and we waited for her to call us up
"Thankyou so much for comming " Grayson smiled
"Thanks for bringing me" I smiled back
I know I didn't exactly like him the way he wanted me to but he was a good guy and deserved an awesome girl who would love him loads... I just wasn't that girl
"So umm.. how's Hayes?" Grayson asked
"He's good.. just doing what he loves you know? I'm proud of him" I shrugged
"Good for him!" Grayson said giving me a small smile.
The small bell chimed signaling new customers and they called our order so Grayson went up to pick it up.
I unlocked my phone to check for aby new messages but when I looked up, I saw Hunter.
My body froze as my gaze fixed on him.
He turned around slightly and met my gaze and smirked a bit and winked.
I looked down at my hands under the table to keep my eyes from him
"Here you go" Said Grayson handing me my icecream.
"Thanks" I replied continuing to look down at my hands
"What's wrong?" He asked worridly
"Nothing.. I'm just tired" I shrugged
We ate our ice cream in complete silence, Grayson tried squeezing in a joke from now and then which kinda helped getting my mind of off Hunter.
I looked up and saw him still looking straight at me, like prey.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and saw Hayes's name pop up on my screen
"I gotta take this" I said and went outside for a bit, which wasn't my best choice because it was rainy and cold, plus I could fall with crutches and everything
"Heyyy babe" Hayes said into the phone
"Hi" I responded
"Are you okay?" He asked
"Kinda, I mean I just saw Hunter " I replied trying to avoid looking inside the shop
"Hunter? He got out of military school? Wait how and where did you seem him?"
"I suppose he did. And Grayson and I just went out for ice cream and-"
"Why are you with Grayson? I told you to stay away from him" Said Hayes
"That's not the point-"
"Yes it is! Because if you weren't out with him, then you wouldn't have seen Hunter " he said a little bit louder now
"This isn't Grayson's fault" I argued
"Why are you defending him now?" He asked
"Because your accusing him of something that's not his fault. I agreed to go out with him-"
"Oh so your on a date with him, now?" Hayes asked annoyed
"Well.. no, I mean-"
"You know what? I hope you have fun on your little date! I have to go and meet my girls now. By the way, nice to know you can keep a promise" Hayes said and hung up.
Right when I need him the most.
"Relationship problems huh?" Hubter asked with his hands stuffed in his pockets and a small smirk, tughing on his lips.
"No. It's none of your business anyways" I said trying to push passed him and back to the shop
"Now don't talk to me like that " he said gripping my wrists, which made my crutches fall.
"Ow your hurting me" I whined and he gripped my wrists harder.
"Aye! Leave her alone " said Grayson comming out of the shop
Just like the first time.. except this time without Hayes
Hunter let me go and I fell to the ground, hurting my ankle in the process
He pushed past Grayson, not without giving him a dirty glare.
"I'm so sorry" Grayson said rushing to my side and helping me to my feet
"It's not your fault" I shrugged
"Who was that?" He asked
"Just an old school bully " I shrugged again
Grayson's mom came to pick us up in no time and Grayson hopped into the back seat with me and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Thankyou for everything " I said as Grayson dropped me off at my doorstep
"No need to thank me.. I'm sorry if today was a complete failure. Hopefully you'll want to go out again" Grayson smiled shyly.
"Sounds good" I smiled and we just stood there as Grayson rocked back and forth
"You should probably get inside. I don't want you getting wet" Grayson said pushing me inside, not literally.
I gave him a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek and rushed inside.
