Put it aside

Colleen POV

Its been a week since I have been home and Josh again has been wonderful. WE are taking the kids to the beach for a picnic and Rachel and her kids with Matt are coming too. I am making sandwiches and packing snacks as Josh gathers towels,blanket,sand toys and kids supplies. I cannot wait to sit in the sun. I swear it does something magical to me. It renews me. I bring the lunch to the front door and Josh is packing the car. He winks at me as he comes in and out. I hug him and he hugs me tight with his face buried in my neck. "Love you babe" he says. I kiss his neck and I start telling the kids to hop in the van. We throw some chairs and night clothes into the trunk and head out. We start setting up on the beach beside Rachel and Matt setting up their stuff. The kids are hungry so they are eating while we unload. We finally finish and sit and relax. I take off my shorts and tshirt and lay on the blanket. I can finally relax. Its heaven. Josh lays down beside me and holds my hands. "Would you like some oil/sunscreen on babe?" he asks me. "Sure" I say. As he puts it on me I start getting weird emotions. I knows its Josh but when he touches me it is bringing me back to that day. I close my eyes behind my sunglasses and hope that he doesn't notice. "Is that good?" he asks and he must notice something is wrong because he lays his head beside mine and rubs my arm. "Babe did that bring back some bad memories?" he asks. I nod quietly as a tear rolls down my cheek He wipes it. "Hun he isn't going to bother you ever again" he says "I have got you now" he adds.

Josh POV

Putting sunscreen on Colleen sent her over the edge with bad memories. I can't even touch my wife without her reliving that day. I Hated him for physically and mentally harming her. i grab her hand and pull her into the ocean with me as Rachel is watching our kids. Rachel knows something is up. I walk out hand in hand with her until we hit the deeper waters. I walk out far enough and pick up Colleen and sure enough she wraps around me just hugging me. Her back is to the beach and she just needed to sob without the kids noticing something is up. I rub her back and kiss her neck. "Babe please don't let him win. He is one sick person out of a million nice ones. Don't let him affect or determine your future happiness okay?" I ask her. She nods."Colleen you are safe babe. He can't touch you anymore" I say. She relaxes a bit in my arms and kisses my lips. "I love you Snoopy. Thank you for putting up with me" she says. "Always" I say and hug her tighter. "lets go play with the kids...they are watching us" I say and start laughing as Colleen turns around and notices our kids yelling at us to come back. We kiss one last time and make our way in. This guy has ruined a part of Colleen forever but I refuse to let him do it anymore.
