Later that night we laid in my tiny single bed. My thoughts were all over the place, how did I get so lucky, where was this going to go, what would life be like with someone like him, but mostly I was just thinking about who was going to fall out of his tiny single bed first! My vote is for me. Cuz well, ya know.
We laid facing each other, his head nestled in my chest, his eyes were closed, I slowly stroked his hair, running my fingers through the long strands on top of his head.
I could hear voices outside, which wasn't unusual for Glastonbury weekend, we often got no sleep with drunk people walking around, going home, and causing trouble usually. I glanced over at the clock on the nightstand. 2.13am, it had usually quietened down by this time.
I needed to sleep but I wasn't sure that my brain would ever allow me to go to sleep and miss watching Jesse's beautiful sleeping face beside me.
The voices outside were bothering me, usually there was noise, shouting, talking for a couple of minutes until they had walked past the house and got further down the road, then it was quiet again until the next lot, but this was different, this sounded like several people had set up camp in the front garden. The talking only getting louder and not passing as it usually did.
"Jess" I whispered, he didn't answer, I tried a little louder
"Jess!"
Still nothing, he was asleep, not sure how he managed to fall asleep despite the noise outside, but he was definitely asleep!
I needed to see what was going on outside, I very slowly backed away from Jesse, letting his head gently fall onto the bed, I slowly moved backwards until I was out of his embrace and
THUD
Fell on the floor.
At least I was right, it was me that was going to fall out first. I looked up at him, he didn't stir.
I got up quickly and put Jesse's hoody on over my shorts
and vest top and walked over to the window. I could hear them, but I couldn't see anyone, my bedroom looked out over the side of the house and the noise was coming from the front.
I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and crept out of the room, I paused for a minute to see if anyone was awake but inside the house was silent.
I crept downstairs by phone light and pulled back the lounge curtain just slightly.
My heart began to race at the sight I looked out on.
"Fuck!" I muttered to myself. There were at least 20 young girls stood at the front wall. I could see the top of a tent in the lane, they were drinking and singing.
"What the fuck? Glastonbury is like 1/4 mile down the road, not here!" I said aloud to myself
Against my better judgement I went outside, angry at their lack of consideration for my sleeping parents! God, I hated that bloody festival!
As soon as I opened the front door the girls started to shout and scream.
I marched down the drive, bare foot, legs out, wearing Jesse's oversized grey hoodie like a dress.
"What the fuck do you think you're all doing outside my house? You're going to wake my parents!" I blasted at them.
"Where's Jay?" Asked a mean looking girl at the front, you can always tell can't you, I bet she was the leader of the bitches at her school.
"What? Jay who?" I replied, I didn't twig right away, it was late!
She rolled her eyes at me, the little cow.
