Jennie was stunned to hear the rooster crowing in the distance. She gets up from the bed she is lying on. She got in a thought that she's her room in the Bae condo where she lived. When the chicken crowed again, she remembered that she was in Jeju with Lisa now.

She glanced at the cabinet. She was tempted to peek into Lisa's room to see what she was doing during those hours but she restrained herself. She picked up the wristwatch on the table on the side of her bed. It is past six in the morning already. It's noon for her. She used to wake up at four-thirty in the morning, especially when Irene was busy.

Jennie hurriedly walked out of the room. She frowned when she heard a noise in the kitchen. Suddenly her chest throbbed. Have the bad guys located them? Maybe it's just a cat? Will she wake Lisa up?

She took a deep breath. She should not always just rely on Lisa. She hid tightly against the wall before slowly peeking into the kitchen.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Lisa was the one making noise in the kitchen.

The latter probably felt her presence as she turned in her direction. Her cheeks warmed when she realized she was caught in the act of hiding.

"Ahm, hi, good morning. I thought it was a thief," she said, then came out of her hiding place. She was shocked to see Lisa's total appearance. She has an Adidas sports bra beneath the apron for her top and just like the first time their paths met, she's wearing only her boxer shorts.

Jennie doesn't know if she'll laugh or what Lisa's appearance because she has spatula in her right hand and a pot holder in her left hand. She approached her and peeked at what she was cooking.

"I didn't know you'd wake up this early," he said, then resumed roasting the rice.

"I used to wake up early. I woke up earlier, eh," he replied, then sat on the long bench and crossed his arms at the table.

"Let me guess, that's because of the relative you live with at the condo, right?"

Jennie lowered her cheek to her arms and turned her face in Lisa's direction. "Yes."

"You work as her maid?" She turned to her for a moment.

          "Yes."

"I see." It was silent for a moment before she speak again. "Why?"

"Why do I work as a maid? It's simple, because we are poor." She told her what happened to her parents, as well as her siblings in Incheon and Jisoo who replaced her to serve the Bae's. She also told her the Bae's and the antics that Irene does.

When Jennie finished telling the story, Lisa also finished cooking their breakfast. The latter said goodbye to her for a moment to wear decent clothes. She then prepared the plates, glasses, spoons, and forks on the table. She was brewing coffee when Lisa got back to the dining room and sat down on the other side of the table.

Jennie handed Lisa a cup of coffee before she sat across from her. "How about you, Lisa? What about your family?" The latter was stunned for a moment when she remembered what had happened to her wife and child. "I mean, your mother and father. How are they?"

"My dad died while serving the Army. My mom died of cancer I was their only child. I lived with my relatives in Busan. After a few years, we moved to Seoul. When I turned eighteen, I left home and took care of myself. "

Jennie nodded. So maybe Lisa is brave and strong because of her life experiences. "I'm just curious of why did you go to Seoul." she said while scooping fried rice on her plate. She took a longganisa and scrambled egg that Lisa had previously cooked.

"Ah, don't worry about it." She tried to brighten her voice then started eating their breakfast.

She looked at her intently. "You know, you're a very good policeman. Other cops should follow your example."

"Just lucky that I got good training." She shrugged, then paused for a moment. It seemed to wonder if she would continue what she is thinking. Later she continued. "I now actually serve as a consultant for the PNP and the NBI. I also work with private agencies like Moon Security and Detective Agency. I train their trainers so they can provide the best service and protection to their clients."

Jennie nodded. "So, who owns this safe house? The police, the NBI, or the detective agency?"

Lisa smiled meaningfully at her. "I'd rather not tell. The less you know, the better." She drank coffee before speaking again. "If you don't mind my asking, how far did you get in your schooling, Jennie?"

"I was in my second year of college at Incheon State University when my parents died. I was taking a Business Administration course, major in Marketing Management."

"You should go back to school."

Jennie shook her head. "I'm not sure. Even if I want to, we don't have any money," she said before eating fried rice with a piece of egg.

        "I'll pay for it."

She looked at her intently. Lisa looks serious in what she said. She swallowed the chewed food before speaking again. "No, thank you. You are doing too much. I do not want to abuse your goodness. I am not an abuser, you know."

Lisa just laughed at what she said. "No, you wouldn't be abusing me, if that's what you're thinking. I would just like to help you, that's all."

          "Because?"

"Because I like you. You're a great person Jennie."

Her cheeks warmed at what she heard. 'Just like that? Can't you 'love' right away? She wanted to say it out loud to her. Fortunately, she restrained himself. "Ahm, ahm ... Thank you. But for now, we need to survive Jong-In first, right? She smiled at her.

The latter's' face turned serious. "We sure do and we will. I promise you that."
