Chapter 38

It was day 1 of trying to get evidence of everything that I had heard on the phone the last time. And today,I was starting from the store room. I know you guys are thinking girl shouldn't you start from his office or something? Yes guys,I know that the office is the ideal place to start but he is there 24/7 and locks it when he is going to bed. I can't wait for days to get the opportunity to search in his office so the best I can do is to start somewhere else and that's why I chose the store room.

About 2 months ago he had asked me to place a box of files there.I knew that he was not stupid to leave anything about his work in there but who knows,I might find something there.I walked out of the house to the back of the house,trying to appear as casual as possible.

I passed by Jason who was playing basketball and Amuzu who mowing the lawn. I gave him a small smile as I passed by and walked to the store room. I opened the door and was greeted with dust. I stared at the boxes packed in the room and sighed. How in the hell was I going to know where that particular box of files was? Annoyed,I began to search through the boxes,trying to make as little noise as possible.

"Yes! Thank you Lord!" I whispered as I found the box. I look through the dirty papers hurriedly. Most of them had contacts of people and travelling agencies on them. I dug further and found a neatly folded paper. I opened it and read through. It was a letter addressed to Mr Danso telling him not to harm the kids. However the letter was dated 2016 which meant that it was written a few years ago. I dug further into the box and found a stack of letters. I stuffed the letters into my pocket,went out of the store and closed the door.

I walked into the house once again,casually acting like I was doing nothing.I then went into my room and shut the door behind me,making sure to lock it. I began to go through the stack of letters one by one. They all said the same thing. The said that persuaded him to stop the child trafficking. And in all the letters,the writer's address was the same thing and the subscription had the same name(Daniella) meaning it was from one person.

Then this this particular one,caught me eyes. It said blah blah blah blah but me your daughter will make sure that blah blah blah. That meant that the person writing the letter was Mr Danso's daughter. I knew he had 3 kids,but I had only seen two. Could Daniella be the last one?

I went through other letters but none of them seemed to give a hint about who Daniella was. Then,I thought back to the conversation I heard. I remember him saying something like "Yes I know that she is my daughter,but if that fly tries me I'll kill her with my own hands."
And in the letter Daniella was just talking about how she will do anything to stop him. This gave me the confirmation that indeed Daniella was his daughter.

Her most recent letter was dated in July of this year and July was about 3 months ago,meaning that she still wanted to stop him. What I needed to do right now was to talk to Daniella. But the question was,how was I going to get her number?

Aliyah...I could get it from Aliyah. I didn't know if she had it on her phone but the chances were high. After all, it was her sister right? It was risky,but Aliyah was the only one who allowed me to touch her electronic gadgets or go through some of her stuff. I had to get it as soon as possible.
