***14 days later**

It has been 14 days since the rescue of the children. The very first day was a hectic one as we struggled to get things together. Though it wasn't easy,we got the press to interview the children and this caused a public outrage just like we expected.

Mr Danso and his men were handed over to the police 'for further investigation'. The kidnap of the children has been the talk of the town since their rescue, and people began to put pressure on the government to reform the police force and to try to terminate corruption especially among the police.

The children were made to receive medical attention for sometime and each child was required to see a psychiatric about the mental health since they were traumatized.Parents and family members of these children came for them after providing a legit birth certificate of the child to show that the child really belonged to them.

I know you are wondering what happened to me right? Let me tell you how God had been good in these past few days.

So basically, one of the children's father is this very wealthy man who in appreciation for saving his child, offered to pay my mother's hospital bills meaning I didn't have to go and work for Mr Danso again. Also,he looked at my mother's CV and has offered her a job in his office as his personal secretary! Isn't that great news guys?

Wait hold on,there is more!Miss Daniella, who owns a popular company of her own, offered Christian a job as the sales manager at her company since he is an SHS graduate and his wassce was great. She offered me a job too,but I'll have to wait till I'm 18 to start. And since I'll be 18 in a few months, she suggested that I just stay at home and take my rest till I'm 18 and ready to go.

Y'all remember Sister Owusuwaa right? Yes? Okay.
So guess what? She has been given a job as a stylist in one of Daniella's friend's company. So apparently her friend owns a modeling company and needed a stylist. I recommended Sister Owusuwaa and after an interview, the job was given to her!

Praise the Lord!

For all these 14 days,my siblings, and I have been staying with Daniella. Daniella literally forced us to stay with her for sometime until all Mr Danso's men were caught so that we didn't put ourselves in danger. Though it was reported on the news about a week ago that everyone in connection with the kidnapping and children trafficking had been caught, she insisted that we stayed for a few more days.

Today however,we were going back home to the slums. Daniella didn't want us to go of course, but we had to,because my siblings were going back to school after their mid-term break and we couldn't keep on living with Daniella forever. My mother and I had over the phone agreed to stay in the slums for sometime and pay off all debts before moving out to a more decent place.

The feeling of familiarity enveloped me we got closer and closer to the slums. For the past few days, all I had done was to dream about how life was going to be now that everything seemed to get better. My life seemed to be a Cinderella story of some sort, but I knew that I wasn't promised a happily ever after. Because I mean,no matter how great life seems to be,there will always be bad days right?

I stared at the raindrops that wriggled down the window of the car and smiled. The raindrop I was rooting for had lost the race. Like I'm not the only one who does this right?

"I told you everything was going to be fine right?" Crystal asked as she wrapped her hands around mine. I nodded and smiled.

Sighing,I closed my eyes and let the lyrics of a familiar song take over me.

I'm coming home,
I'm coming home.
Tell the world that I'm coming home.
Let the rain wash away all the pains of yesterday.
I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes.
I'm coming home ,I'm coming home.
Tell the world that I'm coming...home."
