Inez closed her laptop as she stretched her muscles. She studied for 3 hours straight and now she was getting bored and tired. Theo had left for his meeting hours ago and there was still no sign of him returning.
Inez wouldn't lie. She missed him, missed his company, missed his smile and his caring attitude.
She flinched when her phone suddenly strted ringing as she picked it up to see that William, her family lawyer and also her good friend, was calling her.
"Hey William" she said happily.
"Hey Inez how are you? I heard you had an accident" he asked in a concerned voice.
"I am fine now, thanks to Theo though. But..... how did you know?" she asked as she walked towards her balcony and looked out. She was sure that she hadn't told William about the accident.
There was silence for a few seconds before he strted speaking again. "Oh that.. Henry told me that. You know I called in for weekly inspection, as your family lawyer I have some responsibility" he said as he laughed humorously.
Inez smiled as they talked for a few more minutes. "So? Is Mr Cunningham treating you alright?" he asked finally.
"Ofcourse William, he has been really nice to me. Taken care of me and made me his first priority" she replied as she could hear a sigh of relief from the other side.
"Ok then Inez, I gotta go for now. Don't forget to call me if anything happens, Alright?" he said urgently as Inez hummed while smiling widely. He was so nice to her and always looked out for her like his own little sister.
"Ok. Bye William" with that she hung and sighed as she looked down.
Her gaze flickered down from her balcony as it fixed on the huge swimming pool that Inez was tempted to take a swim in for weeks. Thousands of thoughts swam around her mind.
Should I? she contemplated.
She tested her left hand by jerking it forward and when no pain rushed through her veins, she smiled in joy and skipped to her walk-in closet.
She picked out her lavender-coloured bikini and quickly put it on. She brushed her hair and tucked it loosely with a clutcher. She then put on a matching lavender coloured shirt and took a towel.
