"Dear Theo,..."
"You ready?" Theo asked as he looked down to see Inez frowning and clutching onto his arm while glaring at the two-story house in front of them.
"...If you are reading this second letter, then most probably me and Diana were killed.
Such a failure I was. Waited years but still couldn't give you that letter and now I'm writing to you because I need you, Theo.
Me and Diana had various accidents in these last few years, but every time we managed to survive..."
"Yeah" Inez replied with a soft smile while nodding.
He squeezed her hands and kissed her forehead "It's going to be ok"
"...suspicion bubbled up inside me and I started investigating. William, my most trusted family friend and my company's lawyer was the mole all along.
He is involved with a gang called 'Eagles'. I don't know much about them, just that they are dangerous.
I had my suspicions on William for a while now, but I never accused him. Maybe I didn't want to believe that he betrayed me. Someone whom I trusted my life with.
I finally understand how you felt, Theo..."
They walked towards the tightly shut main door of the house as Theo knocked on it.
Fumbling of things could be heard from the other side, followed by soft footsteps.
"W-Who is it?" a scared voice mumbled.
Inez breathed in deeply before speaking.
"...Tomorrow we have to leave for the boards meeting in Rio de Janeiro where I'll tell everyone about William's reality.
Inez. I cannot tell her what's going on with us. I don't want her to worry, that child has already gone through enough. She has her parents but still, she has to spend most of her time alone.
I want her to be safe in case something happens. I don't trust anyone anymore, except you Theo.
I know it's selfish of me to ask you to take care of her in case something happens to us. I don't have the courage to ask you face to face. I was a coward before and still am..."
"Inez Benedict" she said as Theo's hands slipped around her waist and pulled her closer.
She heard a loud gasp followed by a click. A man, probably in his late 50s with a long unshaven beard, stood in front of her with wide eyes.
