Inez brushed her hair looking lost in the mirror in front of her.Her bandage was replaced by a small adhesive band aid, seems like it was just a small scratch William and Henry were just exaggerating. Everything in her room was packed, the house felt empty just like her heart. The skin under her eyes had turned a light shade of black because she didn't get a wink of sleep for the last 2 days.

Today she was leaving with her guardian, the person she had just met yesterday. The idea seemed absurd but William had reassured her that everything would be fine and if anything went wrong, he should be the first person she calls.

She was terrified as to what the future held for her. New place, new people, new friends she wasn't able to pinpoint what she was scared of the most. Perhaps all three of them. There was a sharp knock on the door "Inez are you ready?" she heard Martha's voice as she sniffled outside the door. She has been crying since yesterday, atleast in front of her.

"Just a few more minutes Martha" she replied back as heard a quick "ok" and then footsteps receding. Inez stood up and took off her robe and wore her black lace panties and bra. She went towards her bed and picked up the simple grey tshirt and light cream colored shorts and wore them.

She put lip balm on her chapped lips and pinched her cheeks to bring out some colors in them. They looked ghastly white. She picked up her small bag full of doritos, M&Ms, skittles, oreos and lays along with her phone and wallet as all her other suitcases were already loaded in the car. She couldn't risk not getting any snacks in London because she didn't know the place at all.

She slipped into her white sneakers and let her dark brown hair flow freely. She walked towards the door and looked around her room one last time before descending down the stairs.

The first thing she saw when she reached the bottom of the stairs is Theodore sitting on the couch in dark blue shirt that hugged all his muscles perfectly and black slacks. He looked concentrated on the papers in front of him as he kept nodding at whatever William was telling him.

"Oh the young mistress is here!" Henry said suddenly from beside her as Inez flinched in surprise. Theodore's blue eyes snapped at her as he smiled a little but his jaw clenched when he looked down at her outfit. "Good morning Inez, hope you had good sleep" William said as he came forward while smiling and kissed her on the cheeks.

"Doesn't seem that way" Theodore muttered as he stared at her failed attempt to cover her dark circles before going back to reading whatever document he was reading before. "Nonsense! I had a great night" Inez chirped awfully excited as William and Henry shared a look of worry.

"Anyway you wait here. We just have a few documents to look and then you are all set to go!" William said happily before walking back to the couch with Henry in tow. Theodore frowned at William for being way too friendly with his niece. He didn't like it.

"Oh my god dear, are you ok?" Martha came as she hugged Inez tightly and lead her to the dining table. "I am fine Martha, I will miss you" Inez said, a little sad for leaving her behind.

"Then you can stay with me! You know my daughter, she has experience in business management. She can help you till you are 21" Martha said, her eyes shining in hope as Inez's jaw clenched in anger. William was correct.

"Hey maid shut up! Inez I am your sister let me take care of you. We will handle the business together" Brianna came as she held Inez's hand affectionately. If Inez didn't know any better she might have fallen for those cunning brown eyes.

"Brianna you do realize I have only ever met you once before and you are not even related to me by blood. You are my distant late uncle's mistress's daughter" Inez said in a cold voice as she glared at her and whisked her hand away from Martha's hold.

Before she could say anything further, she felt a sharp sting on her left cheek as her head snapped towards the right. She heard Martha gasp as she slowly looked back at Brianna to see her hands raised and her breathing heavily.

"What the fuck is happening here!" she heard Theodore roar in anger as her gaze fell on him for a second and then back at Brianna. And without thinking twice Inez raised her hand, bit her lips and slapped her back with all her power and pent up frustration.

It felt good.

Martha gasped again as she went towards Brianna and held her by her shoulder. "I don't want to see any of you leeches now! Get off my property!" Inez shouted, barely controlling her anger as they glared at her with disgust.

Theodore walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him with a proud smile "You heard her, sling your hook and get lost. Your allowances will be sent" he spat out angrily as William and Henry came running towards the dining room and looked at them with confusion.

Brianna and Martha gave her one last glare before walking out of the house. Inez sighed in distress before she noticed the huge hand securely holding her in place. She looked up at Theodore to see him looking at her with an unreadable expression.

Her heart started beating rapidly at his intense stare as a light blush adorned her face. She looked down and pulled away from him. An awkward laugh broke the silence -it was William's- .

"So... I guess I will submit these papers today" he said awkwardly as Henry nodded in agreement, not knowing what to do further.

"Let's go little one" Theodore said in his deep voice as Inez nodded and went towards William and hugged him. He was like an older brother to her. "Take care of yourself ok? And don't forget to call me" William whispered in the hug as Inez nodded and pulled back.

She kissed him on the cheeks and smiled at him. She was pulled by her waist as her back hit a hard chest, she looked behind her to see Theodore with his jaw clenched as his hands tightened around her waist and he glared at William. "Hey!" Inez complained.

"We'll be late" Theodore mumbled before dragging her towards his car outside as Henry shook William's hand one last time and thanked him before following  behind them.
