"Barbara, can you please hurry up?" Inez requested as the blonde immediately nodded and speeded up the process of doing her makeup.
Inez sat there and stared at her reflection with knitted brows. Every once in a while her eyes flickered to the wall clock which read 7:30 pm.
Her phone rang loudly startling both of them as Inez smiled at Barbara's reflection in the mirror "I apologize" she said while picking up her phone.
"INEZ!" Rhea's loud voice greeted her as she hissed a little "YOU HAVE A MEETING AT 8:00 PM. WHERE ARE YOU!"
"Rhea I told you to cancel it" Inez replied while looking at her freshly manicured nails "I cannot go to that meeting today, I already cancelled on Theo 2 times before" she whispered sadly as she remembered his hurt expression when she couldn't make it their date before.
It had been 3 years since everything that had happened and Inez was now the president of Benedict Corporation. She was appointed just recently and every board member was in her favour because of her calibre.
But with a title, comes a lot of work.
Recently, there was a really important deal that Inez was trying to crack. She would have meetings all day and work till late at night. And somewhere along the line she almost forgot about her boyfriend who waited at home for her every day.
She felt terrible for making Theo her second priority.
But now, she was going to make it all right. Now that the deal was finally over, she could relax a bit like before and shower her needy boyfriend with affection.
"Oh, date hmm" Rhea said teasingly while Inez blushed. Rhea was now her closest friend and her own secretary.
"Shut up" Inez said, trying to suppress her growing smile as she heard Rhea chuckle from the other side.
"Well ok then, I'll ask Abias to attend the meeting in your place" she said as Inez nodded.
Abias Jackson who was her boss when she was an intern, now worked under her as CFO while she became the chairperson of the company.
It felt good to order him around like he did when she was an intern.
"Yeah..sure" Inez almost laughed as she imagined his pissed off face.
"Ok then, enjoy your night Ms Benedict" Rhea said with fake courtesy before hanging up as Inez chuckled and shook her head with a smile.
