Peacekeepers
As they reached the docks of Republic City, Korra, Mako and Dawn were the first three off the boat and Chief Beifong walked over towards them. "Welcome home, Avatar and Protector. Thanks for starting a war." Beifong said with her hands on her hips.
"I didn't start a war. Well, I did, but it's more complicated than you're making it seem." Korra clarified, Dawn just rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, talk about family issues." She breathed out and Korra glared at her.
"Mako, I want you back on the beat. There's going to be a Southern Water Tribe peace march tonight. I need you there to make sure things don't get out of hand." Beifong commanded Mako.
"I'm all yours." Mako agreed with a smile.
"I'll go too. The people of the South need to see that the Avatar is on their side in the fight against the Northern invaders." Korra said and Dawn raised an eyebrow.
"And what about me?" She asked while Korra frowned.
"You would be with me." Korra implied as Dawn shook her head.
"Oh no, a Fire Nation Princess walking with the Southern Water Tribe. It may be a few years after the hundred year war, but there are still people who hate my people." She told Korra as Beifong sighed.
"Great. That should calm them down." Beifong said sarcastically.
"Maybe you should sit this out." Mako told Korra.
"What?" Korra asked and Dawn stepped slightly away from the conversation.
"I just think having you there blatantly supporting one side will only make things worse. You could at least try to seem neutral." Mako told his girlfriend.
"I'm not neutral. The North invaded my home. The only reason I'm here is to get the Republic to send troops to help the South." Korra insisted to Mako.
"Zhu Li's already scheduled a meeting for us with president Riako tomorrow. We'll get him on board." Varrick told the Avatar.
"Whatever. I gotta go to work." Mako said while walking away and Dawn raised her head.
"Can I help?" She asked and Mako thought for a moment.
"Sure, we'll ask Beifong when we get there." He said and Dawn smiled while going off to follow him.
"I better go check on my factory." Asami said and following Mako and Dawn off the pier.
"I'm going to find out about this peace march." Korra stated.
"And I am dying for a pedicure!" Varrick said while smiling at Zhu Li and bopping her nose as everyone walked away except Bolin.
"So, uh, what should I be doing?" Bolin asked everyone.
"I don't know, Bolin. Figure something out." Mako said as he looked down at Dawn who had a big goody smile on her face.
"I never got to be in the police station, Toph said I was too much like my grandfather." She said excitedly and Mako raised an eyebrow.
