She's a good girl
She feels so good

HARRY
"Turn it this way." She tells me, making room in the living room to slide her new couch against the back brick wall.
"Like this?" I ask, finalizing the position.
"Perfect." She says, sitting back on the couch and throwing her legs over the armrest.
We had spent practically the whole day together, shopping for furniture and eating in San Francisco. We made another bet and I would do anything to win it. I couldn't believe she had never heard of Stevie Nicks.
What kind of person doesn't know who Stevie Nicks is?
What kind of person doesn't listen to music?
"What are you thinking about?" She says, interrupting my train of thought.
I take a step towards the couch, lifting up her legs and sitting down where they were, putting them back on my lap. I rest my hands on her calves and look up at the ceiling.
"Oh, just how big of a disgrace you are. Who doesn't listen to music?" I say in disbelief.
"This again?" She replies with an eye roll. "Not everyone likes noise."
"Music, Bentley. Not noise."
"Same shit." She says, eyes closing.
I look at Bentley's face, completely softened as she lays down with her eyes closed. Her chest rises and falls slowly, her hands resting over her stomach. Her outfit was different from what I'd seen her wear in the past. She's in pastels, perfect for the summer. Her shirt was loose on her, oversized and it matched her shorts. She had kicked off her white sneakers and the door and she looked comfortable.
I liked that she looked comfortable... I was comfortable too. Safe, almost.
My phone starts ringing and I sit up to grab it, and see Emmy's name. Bentley sits up, gesturing that I hand her a container on the nightstand as I answer the phone.
"Hi Emmy, everything alright? It's late for you." I say, and Bentley's head whips around to look at me.
"Hi Harry, just calling to make sure everything was alright. You never called earlier today." Fuck, I had forgotten to call and I got distracted by Bentley.
"I'm fine, got caught up. Been a busy day." I say quickly, and I can see Bentley smirking out of the corner of my eye.
"Busy? What'd you do?"
"Nothing much, just hung out."
I never gave Emmy too many details on my life. She didn't need to know too much about me other than I loved her. The less she knew, the better.
Bentley shuffles a bit, opening the container I handed her and pulling out a pill bottle. She opens it quickly, grabbing two little red pills and swallowing them dry, clearing her throat a bit.
"With who? I can hear someone in the back." Emmy says excitedly.
"With nobody. Must have been on your end." I quip.
"You're lying, but I'll let you get away with it." She laughs. "Glad to hear your voice, I miss you. When are you coming back to visit?"
