HARRY

TWO DAYS LATER

We had arrived in Marrakech yesterday, and immediately crashed into a deep sleep from the jetlag.

We rented a riad out, so I slept in another room last night to give her some space. I woke up early this morning to call Rumer and make sure that everything Bentley had asked of him had been done. Then I went back to bed.

When I told her we were going to Marrakech she looked at me in slight embarrassment and confusion, only to admit she had no idea what that was and I swear I bit back my laughter at her expression. She was really adorable sometimes and she had no idea... it was one of those hidden sides of her.

I was lucky I got to see it so often.

So we took the first flight out of Buenos Aires all the way to Marrakech, which might not be ideal in the mid-August heat but we would make the most out of it. There's a nice pool in the center of the place we're staying at and we were going to enjoy being in hiding for a bit.

It was the best decision to make because we couldn't go back to Oakland now that we had targets on our back, and we didn't know where Luna and Victor had escaped to. I beat myself up over missing that shot and shooting someone else down, but it turns out the person I did kill was just a hostess and I wasn't making any enemies over it.

We spent a good amount of time figuring shit out and making accommodations for everyone back in Oakland. Allergy had flown out to Florida to stay with her parents because she could work remotely, Dorian and Apollo were staying at Bentley's place for the time being and the wonder twins were in Cartagena for the next race, which the alias Luna and Victor had used had dropped out of.

We were all in hiding now. The Sades knew we posed a threat to them, and we knew that they'd go ballistic the next time we saw them. So for now, all we could do is enjoy Morocco and the peace that came with isolation.

No phones, no laptops... We couldn't use anything that could send out a signal to locate us since we used the burner phones she bought at the airport already, so it would be Bentley and I until further notice.

I didn't mind. I liked being with her, and seeing her face when she'd look at new things was enough to keep me going sometimes. Seeing her in action back in Argentina the other day was everything too, I had never seen someone move so sensually and purposefully in my whole fucking life.

I had fucked my hand last night just thinking about her and her touch... the kiss we shared before embarking on the wild goose chase that was killing Luna's replacement driver. We still didn't understand why exactly Luna wasn't driving, but her having a faux-driver made sense in a grand scheme. Now we understood why she had so many new Kings being tattooed. She needed their loyalty to command them. She was leading them to death. Ben and I had agreed not to talk about it anymore until our move to our next location, which is yet to be determined.
