Important: please do not judge the writing in the first couple chapters as I was just starting off and had never really written a story before. My writing improves as the story goes on I swear :))

LULA!!!!! CHARLOTTE!!!!! If you are reading this please leave :) Because that's very embarrassing for me 😇

It was another long day, working at the Hospital.

Meredith Grey was a 2nd year surgical resident at Seattle Grace Hospital and she was an outstanding surgeon. She could throw stitches faster than most others and her hands were steadier than those of any surgeon ever seen. People often say that she must of gotten her talent from her mother.

See Meredith Grey was the daughter of none other than surgeon Ellis Grey. Ellis Grey was known all over the world for her famous surgical techniques (her most successful being the Grey method). Because of this Meredith had to always live under her mother's shadow and after doing so well in her surgical program everyone told her the same phrase: your just like your mother. Personally though, I think that it was Meredith's own talent that made her so outstanding.

Meredith's day was mostly filled with patients and surgery along with the occasional drama surrounding her bf and his ex. But today, something happened that I don't think Meredith or any other doctor at Seattle Grace would have expected.

"Derek, hurry up we're going to be late" Meredith called from downstairs.
"Coming dear" he said before running down the stairs while adjusting his tie. It was her favourite, his royal blue one: she always thought it brought out his eyes.

Derek kissed her on the cheek before putting on his long dark coat. It made him look like one of those secretive hot detectives. It was a good look on him.

See at the hospital, everyone called Derek 'Mcdreamy' and in most eyes, Meredith was so lucky to have him. With his floppy dark hair that dropped over his eyes and his perfectly structured cheekbones. He was tall and muscular and had dark romantic eyes that most girls would just drift into. But Meredith was no ordinary girl.

Now don't get me wrong, though she loved him very much, there was always something missing to their relationship. She just couldn't put her finger on it.

'Maybe we should just move to the next level. Maybe we're talking it to slow.' she thought to herself. It was a constant battle of confusion in her mind. She'll talk to her best friend Cristina about it later, maybe she can help her figure it out.

"You coming darling" Derek laughed as he grabbed her by hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. He dragged her through the door and carried on to babble about some amazing experimental surgery he was going to do that day.

'He's perfect, what's wrong with you?' thought Meredith as she followed him outside.

As they walked through Seattle Grace's doors hand-in-hand, Meredith noticed Cristina talking to her fiancé Burke near the elevators. Cristina Yang was in Meredith's intern group and was one of the best anyone had ever seen. Some may say she was even better than Meredith. Her fiancé Burke was a cardiothorastic surgeon and Cristina was in complete awe of him. He had won countless awards for the many experimental surgeries he did. No other surgeon was as great as him. He was the blue-print for doctors all around the world.

Meredith let go of Derek's hand, waving at Cristina to get her attention.

"Cristina!" Meredith shouted making her person jump and turn around.

"Hey, how are you" Christina giggled as Burke backed away from the two off them. He walked up to Derek who laughed and smiled at him.
"Imma leave those two to their gossip." Burke chuckled as Derek pat him on the back. "The twisted sister." Derek replied as they wondered of muttering about who knows what.

Cristina noticed that Meredith wasn't acting like her usual self lately. She was worried for her and she wanted to know how to help. "Is it Derek again?" she asked as she watched Mcdreamy walk of with her fiancé, examining and trying to figure out the issue. Meredith nodded in reply. "I just don't know what's wrong with me. I mean he's perfect. He's McDreamy for fucks sakes. I don't understand."

They stepped into the elevator as Meredith began her usual rant all over again. Cristina had heard the same speech the day beforehand in the Cafeteria and the day before that in the On call room and then the day before that in the bloody OR, during her first craniotomy. It was getting extremely boring, especially as she knew there was something that Meredith wasn't telling her.  She was angry at Mer for not just spitting it out but also scared for her at the same time. She thought they were supposed to be each other's persons so why wasn't Meredith just being honest.

"I mean it's got to be that we're just moving too slow there is no other expla-" Meredith was cut of by a long slender hand stopping the elevator doors from closing. "Oh thank God" thought Cristina to herself "Saved by the bell".

As the doors widened they revealed a tall women in an elegant red dress who seemed to be in a rush. 'Oh god.' Meredith thought to herself as the woman walked through the elevator doors. This woman was none other than the infamous Addison Montgomery: previously known as Addison Shepherd.

"Ahh, Meredith, Cristina! How lovely to see you" Addison said, flashing her perfect teeth as she chuckled to herself. Meredith, who was usually always confident and self-assured , muttered something inaudibly. Her hands clammed up against each-other as Addison moved to press number 3 on the elevator buttons. Mer gazed at the back of Addison's head and her rustic red locks that fell graciously on her shoulders. As Addi positioned herself back into place her hand made it's way to her hip. 'Who in there right mind would ever leave her.' Meredith thought laughing, before remembering Derek and their whole tragedy last year.

Cristina watched as Meredith dozed off into her own little dark and twisty world. She was never this nervous around anyone but right now she could see the light glimmer of the sweat that sat on Meredith's forehead. Addison always brought out this awkward quiet side of her. She always assumed that it was because of the whole "pick me" situation that went down last year. "Maybe she's the problem in Mer's and Derek's relationship." Christina laughed to herself before a wave of realisation hit her. She froze. "wait.. no... what if she is the problem."

She looked at Meredith then at Addison, the realisation becoming clearer in her brain. "Could it be?" she wondered, "I mean... it would explain a lot." She nudged it off trying to think about something other than accusing her best friend of being in love with her boyfriend's ex-wife.

The elevator doors widened again as all three stumbled out into the hallway their pagers beeping violently.
