Meredith looked down to find the shattered plate spread across the floor. Her eyes darted from one piece of shard to the next contemplating whether she should stay here and clear it all up or go and let Addison in. 'Why was Addison even here?' she thought to herself, panic swarming over her body. Meredith hadn't given a thought about what she'd say to her in regards to their moment outside the hospital. I mean what would you say to your boyfriend's ex-wife who you have a crush on?

Meredith decided and before she could change her mind, she stepped over the large shards of glass on the floor, trying not to penetrate her foot, and began to walk towards the front door. As she stepped into the front room her eyes locked with Addison's, who's face was painted with tears stains, her eyes red and puffy. Meredith hurried towards the door, her eyes still glued to Addi's, and carefully unlocked it. She pulled her hand towards her, opening the door, letting a shivering Addison stumble into her house.

Addison hand grasped onto a chair as she tried to stablize herself. She was clearly completely drunk, probably after spending her night a Joe's bar. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in every little aspect of her surroundings before she looked back up at Meredith who's face was painted with confusion. Addison tried to speak, wanting to explain her appearance, but her mouth wouldn't give and instead it shot a smile over to her. Meredith replied with a sympathetic smile back.

"Addison, what's going on?" asked Meredith placing a hand on Addi's shoulder causing her to tense under Meredith's touch. "Nothing.. Nothing" Addison muttered drunkenly, shaking her head vigorously. "I.. I.. I want to sa-say... something" Addison said but was shushed by Meredith's hand wrapping around Addi's shoulder reassuring her. "Let me get you upstairs." Meredith replied, leading Addi towards the steps.

Mer tried to place Addison gently on the bed, but instead Addi flopped onto it causing a loud creaking noise to occur.

"Here, look," Meredith exclaimed, placing her blanket over Addison's shivering body, "you stay here ok, get some rest. I'll be back in a couple hours." Meredith uttered but before she could attempt to leave, Addison clasped her hand onto Meredith's wrist, hinting her to stay. "I can't, I have rounds in..." Meredith lifted her watch to her face, "In fifteen minutes!" She knew she had to leave as soon as possible or Bailey was going to kill her but when she looked back up at Addison, who was staring into her eyes she couldn't help but feel sorry for her. "I'm so sorry, Addi." Meredith sighed, removing her wrist from Addison's grasp and slowly heading out the door.

"I love you." she whispered, but was too far away for Addison to hear.
