Finally, a long day of surgery and patient care came to a close. Mer's busy work day and bustling schedule had almost made her forget about the night she had before. But as her feet stepped on the concrete outside of the hospital and the cold fresh air hit her face, realisation and humiliation set in.

Mer had been holding all this embarrassment inside throughout the day, afraid to let the other residents watch her fall apart. They seemed to all have their lives so much more put together than she did. But as she stood outside with the wind brushing against her pale skin, she let all of her emotions go, tears falling down her rosy cheeks and sobs forming on the brim of her mouth.

Her knees buckled as she fell onto the bench beneath her. She was so humiliated, so ashamed. What had she become? Having a silly crush on her boyfriend's ex-wife. Having a threesome with her boyfriend and her ex. She was shocked at how she turned out, and well to be honest... she was disappointed as well. I mean she was turning 28 this year but still acting like a 16yr old teenager with a crazy sex-drive.

It was almost midnight and she was alone outside the hospital crying her eyes out. Her face planted in her hands as she tried to muffle her sobs, to not attract attention to herself. This clearly failed as a slender hand placed itself on Meredith's shoulder.

"Mer.." a voice called from behind her, causing her to turn around in her seat. Addison's face stared down at Meredith's. It was swollen and red, her eyes bloodshot and filled with tears. Her lips were chapped and blue, as the rain began to pour on top of them. But still, though sobbing and broken, Addison could not help but admire Meredith's beauty.

She moved round the bench, keeping her hand still firmly on Meredith's shoulder, before seating herself down beside her.

Minutes passed as she sat there, trying to show Mer as much compassion as she could. Addison positioned her head slightly diagonally, and a sympathetic smile was plastered on her face. She had no idea what had happened to Mer, but at this point she didn't care. She wanted to be there for her, always.

"I- I-" Meredith muttered, her sobs cutting her words short. A part of her wanted to tell Addison to leave, that she didn't deserve this, that she had done something terrible. But the other part of her was unable to think of anything better than the two of them sat here together in the rain, with Addison's comforting hand resting on her shoulder.

Mer looked up at Addison, glaring into hazel eyes. They were so beautiful, so dark and romantic, with specks of gold and green sprinkled with in them. Their faces rested only inches apart from each-other as Meredith felt Addison's other hand intertwine with her own. Her eyes drifted down to Addi's lips. They were painted a beautiful dark red and looked so perfect. All Meredith could think about was how they would taste against her own. She could feel the tension rising between them as Addison's thumb caressed Meredith's own.

But as Addison's face moved closer to Meredith's causing the inches between them two shrink, the sound of a voice broke the sexual tension between them and Addison's hand to leave her shoulder. "Hey, Mer!" Christina shouted, as she leaped over from the hospital doors. "You heading home?" she asked her eyes manoeuvring from Addison and back at Meredith. "Uh- uh- yh sure." Meredith replied, releasing her fingers from Addison's grasp as she stood herself up. Without a second glance back at Addison, trying to act confident and self-aware, she locked arms with Christina Yang and walked away leaving the bench behind her.

"So... you're gonna tell me what that was about?"
