Confontation pt.2 - Chapter 3

Meredith followed Addison through an empty hall way. Her eyes watched as she gracefully walked with her hand placed comfortably on her hip, one step at a time. She was wearing a slim-fit red dress that extenuated her curves and elegant black heels. She looked gorgeous, like some type of Victoria secret model.

"Are you going out somewhere tonight?" Meredith asked, knowing no doctor would dress so uncomfortably on a regular day.

"Ah.. yes I'm supposed to be out with my boyfriend right now" Addison laughed, "I completely forgot".
She giggled as slight joy covered her face. She looked Meredith in the eyes noticing her slight frown. Keeping eye contact for only a split second, she examined her face, every aspect of it, before turning away.

'Her what-' thought Meredith, feeling disappointed about the fact that Addison was taken, though she was still as clueless and confused as ever. Addison had never mentioned having a boyfriend before now, 'Well I guess he must not be very important' she thought, 'Or I'm not important enough for her to tell that to...'

Addison opened the door to the skills lab making way for Meredith to enter before heading inside after her. Meredith stopped by one of the dummy's that her and Izzie had practised on only days before. She spun around and looked at Addison with a puzzled expression painted on her face.

"The skills lab??" She said, a sudden wave of disappointment filling her. She wasn't sure what she was expecting but she knew it wasn't this. "What are we doing here?"

"We're going to practice working with each other..." She smiled stepping in-front of Meredith till they were only inches apart. Addison looked into her ocean blue eyes mesmerised by them. These stolen glances were so precious to her. Laughing she said "till you get over that silly crush of yours."

Shock penetrated Meredith right through her stomach. A crush... what?... what was she on about? She stepped back confused causing the inches that were between them only seconds ago into agonising metres. "I'm very sorry Addison but I think your mistaken." she gulped trying to sound as realistic as she possibly could. But she had realised she was right. Painfully right.

"I'm with Derek, and I love him. Plus! I'm not even into girls!"

"Meredith." Addison smiled. Mer's hand swept away her curtain bangs from her eyes and she kept her head down trying to make sure no more awkward eye contact was made. She just wanted to leave.
"Meredith, come on! It's not a big deal really. You think your the first person to have a crush on me" Addison laughed, seemingly mocking her. "I'm used to it"

Meredith, still paralysed with embarrassment twiddled with her thumbs sweat leaking from her forehead. She was so humiliated, she felt like she would die. Ok, that was an exaggeration, but you get what I mean.

"Ah whatever,look just don't let it get in the way of patient care." Addison said before stepping back into the hallway and closing the door behind her.

'Well crap...' Meredith thought.
