Yuck - chapter 10

"Walk up, wake up!" Meredith heard as she jerked awake from the feeling of a hand hitting her violently. "Get up, you lazy ass!" Bailey cursed staring down at Mer, who was still half asleep and drooling onto her chin. Her body was curled up into a ball, the covers of her blanket over only half of her and she was wearing the scrubs she had on from earlier this morning.

"What in God's name made you think you had the right to sleep: FOR FOUR HOURS!" Bailey exclaimed causing Meredith eyes to shoot open, shock swarming over her body. "Crap, crap, crap" She shouted, shoving the covers off her and stretching out to grab her pager off the counter next to her. "Crap, crap, crap is right." Bailey muttered, as Meredith checked it, seeing the pager was completely out of charge. "You have a oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) in Or.1 in 20! You better be ready." she shouted, staring Meredith down, before storming out the room and shutting the door behind her.

Meredith sighed, jumping out of bed and taking a brown hair tie off her wrist and wrapping it into her hair. She adjusted her scrubs, tightening the string around her waist, before wandering out the on-call room and heading towards OR-1.

Meredith re-positioned her scrub cap on her head before pushing the doors open to the scrub room and walking over to the closest sink. In front of the furthest one stood Bailey, who was humming the tune of Aretha Franklin's 'Think' while scrubbing her hands viciously with soup.

"You ready?" Bailey asked looking up from her hands and into Meredith's eyes. She looked slightly concerned but Meredith ignored it and nodded back. They smiled at eachother before walking into the OR, as the fresh scent of sterile equipment whipped up their noses.

Ok Katie I'm going to count back from ten now. You just relax, it'll be over before you know it.

Meredith looked from the patient then back up at Bailey, a puzzled look painted across her face as they got ready to begin their surgery. "Wait, why in the world are you performing a surgery meant for Ob/Gyns?" Meredith asked as a scrub nurse from beside her handed her a 10 blade. The whole of the OR went silent in reply to Meredith question. She looked around from person to person, her eyes stopping back at Bailey who was looking at her with a shocked impression.

"Did you not hear?" Bailey asked as Meredith continued to slowly start making her incision. "Hear what?" she replied. "Addison Montgomery quit yesterday. I said I'd take one of her patients of her before she left, and Arizona is taking the rest." Bailey uttered before noticing the pained expression across Meredith's face. "Mer are you ok? I'm sorry I thought you knew."

Meredith looked up at Bailey. She could feel her heart beat speeding up, the sound of it echoing throughout her ears. She dropped the scalpel placing onto the floor causing a loud crash to exho across the room . Her hands shot up as she stepped away from the from patient. She looked around the room noticing the other doctors and nurses staring at her with puzzled looks. A sickening feeling began to sit in her stomach as she stared up breathing heavily.

"Someone please take my mask off." She commanded looking around the OR. No one dared to move. "Someone take my mask off right now!" her voice bellowed and as the nurse beside her grabbed the strings and lifted them over her head, Meredith turned around away from the patient...

and threw up all over the floor.

yuck.

Lol I swear I'm sorry every chapter is so intense next time it's just gonna be a bit of dialogue. Obviously after that though: lots of drama awaits!

Also thank you so much for 700 reads!!! I started this off only a couple weeks ago and I still remember going onto wattpad and seeing my first chapter had 60 reads and I was overwhelmed with excitement. And now I have 700!! It means the world to me guys thank you :)
