Robin's POV: The Tournament Begins

  "I welcome all, here physically or simply viewing, today to this year's special games hosted by Smash School University," Master Hand shouted.

  Cheering erupted across the stadium. The traditional Pokémon Stadium had been chosen as the stage for our first battle, King De De De vs Wii Fit Trainer. It was going to be an interesting battle. Lots of us were wondering if Wii Fit Trainer could even land a hit on the De De De, since he had a huge hammer. 

  Chrom sat on left side, bouncing up and down like a child. Lucina was on my right with Robina. Ike was next to Robina and the two of them were talking. A bench down were Roy, Marth, Corrin, and Corrina. 

  Since this was the very first battle of the new year, we were supposed to sit in groups according to which universe we were from. I was just glad that I wasn't the only Smasher from my world, like Shulk or Cloud. 

  Above every booth, including ours, waved a banner, signaling which world we were from. Today, we also had super special guests. The royal family of Hyrule. No one knew why, not even me, but I was curious as to why they were here. I didn't think it wasn't a casual visit. 

  It was kinda cool seeing all of the people from Twilight's world thought. Many of them were the appointed bodyguards to the daughters of King Rhoam. Some of them weren't even human, or Hylian, in this case. 

  One of them was basically a bird man, with a proud stance, blue feathers, and a bow strapped across their back. Another was a fish lady, small and delicate looking, with a trident in her hands. The third looked like a living rock with a huge hammer, and the four looked like a Hylian, except taller with tanned skin and some abs. She looked dangerous, like a wolf ready to strike at prey. 

  "This year, we are hosting what is called a tourney. Our smashers have begun training to practice for the upcoming battles in which that will participate in. Essentially, every fighting in our roster will be put through a series of fights. They are all two on two battles, which means only one of the pair will advance to the next round. Eventually, their will only be two people left, who will battle it out in the finals!"

  More cheering. I was surprised that the stadium didn't shake like a penny in a tin can. 

  "Today's matches will be: morning session - Wii Fit Trainer vs King De De De! Afternoon session - Sonic vs Orange! And evening session - Villager vs Isabelle!" 

  "WHOOO!" Chrom screamed. I leaned away from him, plugging my left ear to try and mute my friend. It didn't work very well, and it only got worse as Lucina took up shrieking too. Robina and I exchanges looks. 

  The stage shook, and three fighters appeared. One was Wii Fit Trainer on the left, another was King De De De on the right, and the middle was Jigglypuff, in her human form. The crowds fell silent.

  Jigglypuff was wearing a cheerleader's outfit, and she raise her pompoms. "Alright then. I wanna hear you loud and clear fans! Join me! Wii-fit, trai-ner. Wii-fit, trai-ner. Wii-fit, trai-ner." 

  Those cheering for Trainer, the female Wii Fit Trainer, grew louder in volume. Jigglypuff changed her chant. "Ki~ing, De De De! Ki~ing, De De De! Ki~ing De De De!"

  Pretty soon the stadium was echoing with competing chants of the two smashers. 

  "Ki~ing, De De De!" Chrom shouted, pumping his fist. Ike joined him. 

  "Wii-fit, trai-ner. Wii-fit, trai-ner!" Lucina yelled, with Robina backing her. I sighed, might as well. I'd been weighing the odds since the match was announced, and had decided that King De De De probably had the winning edge.
