Chapter 17

It was the middle of April, and I was packing up. I decided I was going to take a trip somewhere for a few weeks. Colby and I were wanting to get together. But the so-called fans were being toxic. So we ended up not even getting together. It was honestly stressing me out. Pretty much everyone knew I was going on this trip, except Colby. The other promised they would not tell him. They understood I needed time to myself and not hearing about, Colby.

I started to pack my bags into my car. I hated that I was doing this, but I needed to get away for a while. I did not know where I was actually going to go. I was going to decide on the road.

Once I was on the road I figured I would just go to Arizona. Yeah, it was close to California, but it is whatever. Once I made it to Arizona I was looking for a safe area with a hotel. I was getting a bit hungry so I stopped at the closest Chipotle. I went in and started to order. Once I sat down it felt like I was being looked at. I looked up to see a guy looking away quickly. I ignored it and went back to eating my food. I threw the leftovers away before leaving. I decided to try and get a hotel room before it got dark. Thankfully it ended up being affordable.

I started to bring my things up to my room and laid in my bed. My phone started going off, a lot. I saw that it was Colby trying to call me. I just ignored it. I noticed he texted me since I was not answering. I did miss talking to him, but I didn't want to get myself hurt again. But I already hurt myself reading the messages.

"Where are you?" 3:30 pm

"Are you okay?" 3:30 pm

"I miss you" 3:33 pm

I wanted to text him, but I was taking this trip to take my mind off of him. I turned my notifications off. A few days later I decided I was going to explore this place near me. I also decided that maybe, I would head back to California. I started to pack my things and put my luggage into my car. I went to the lobby so I could return the key to the room. I went back and sat, with the car running for a bit. I was feeling pretty hungry, so I looked for places to eat on my phone.

It took me a while to find somewhere I would like.

Once I arrived at the restaurant and walked in I noticed a guy was looking at me. I just shook it off though. They were probably curious who was coming in. I went to the counter and began to order. The cashier handed me a cup and I went to the fountain, to fill my cup up. I looked for an empty table to sit down at, while I waited for my food. After about an hour I was done eating, so I threw my trash away and re-fill my cup. I made my way to my car and started making my way to, the abandoned place. Once I arrived, I parked my car about a mile away from it.

I started to walk to the building and tried finding a way in. Once I made it in, I walked carefully hoping no one else was in here. The floor was pretty creaky. I was not surprised, the building looks like it was abandoned for about 6 years. There were a few birds inside the building. I stopped in my tracks when I heard another voice. The voice was quiet but I could still hear it.

I looked around me carefully but didn't see anyone. "Was it a ghost?" I said to myself, before walking again. I bumped into someone. I looked up to see Sam.

"Shit," Sam told me.

"Wait, I didn't know you were here," I told him.

"I texted you, and I honestly did not know you would be exploring," Sam told me.

"Colby is not here. Is he?" I asked.

There were a few moments of silence.

"Hey, Sam-" I heard Colby say.

"Y/N? What are you doing in Arizona?" Colby asked me.

"Honestly, I am here cause I needed to get away," I replied.

"Away from what?" Colby asked.

"A lot of things. The so-called fans and all the drama was stressing me out," I told Colby.

" I have been texting you-" Colby told me.

"I turned them off," I replied.

"So that's why you did not see my message," Sam told me.

"Yeah. I'm sorry," I replied.

"It's okay," Sam told me.

"Why don't we all go back to California and, sort this out?" Sam asked me.

"Sure I guess," I replied.

Sam, Colby, and I explored the rest of the place. Once we were finished we went to our cars. Which ended up being parked kind of close to each other. We decided to talk, to see if we were going to California at the same time. We ended up deciding on yes. "y/n let me drive, ok?" Colby asked me. "What?" I replied. "Let me drive your car, and we can talk on the way," Colby told me. "Okay fine," I replied. It confused me as to why he wanted to talk on the way. I just went with it, cause honestly, we did need to talk.
