Chapter 12

I woke up the next morning and noticed I was still at Mike's. I assumed I fell asleep while he went to talk to Colby. I got up off the couch and went to the bathroom. I noticed Mike was still asleep. While walking back to the bathroom, I thought of making Mike breakfast, since he was nice enough to help me and let me sleepover. After finishing I heard Mike walk in the hallway.

"Did you make breakfast?" Mike asked me.

"Yea, I hope you don't mind," I replied.

"No, that's fine. Thanks honestly, you are a real one," Mike said as he made himself a plate.

He noticed I was not getting a plate and looked at me.

"Are you getting any?" Mike asked me.

I shook my head. "No I'm not that hungry. My stomach feels sick from what happened last night." I replied, giving a small smile.

"That is understandable, I still don't understand whyhe did that. He seemed to like you," Mike said in a confused tone.

"Oh well, he probably likes someone else, just didn't want to hurt me," I replied.

"He still hurt you either way hun," Mike told me.

"I know. I need to give him his hoodie back soon. I just remembered he gave me one, and I believe a few shirts." I replied to Mike. He told me to wait a few days and see what happens. Which was understandable. I sat on the couch looking for my phone. I asked Mike if he knew where it went. He said he took it when I was asleep so it wouldn't be the first thing I picked up. I didn't even notice it was gone honestly. He made me wait till after he was done eating to have it back.

He let me watch some youtube on his computer. I just ended up watching a movie. I got distracted by the movie and I never noticed that he gave my phone back and sat beside me. I decided to just finish the movie with him. I heard my phone vibrate a lot, but didn't care to check it until the movie was fully done. I picked my phone up and I noticed Cassie had texted me a bunch. We were pretty close but did not talk a whole lot.

"Heyy" -Cassie

"Are you doing ok?" -Cassie

"Also what the hell happened with you and Colby? Sam and the others keep talking about it. :(" -Cassie.

I thought of how to reply which took a while. Eventually, I figured out a reply.

"Hey, I'm doing alright I guess. Long story short, I got the guts to ask who he liked, he told me nobody. I got upset and asked if the kisses we had meant anything, then Mike took my phone when I was asleep. So I never got to see if he replied. Noticed Colby only read the message when I got my phone back,"

I pressed send and told Mike I was going home. He offered to take me home but I told him I would be okay. I thanked him for the offer and made my way home. He had Katrina take my car back to my house. I didn't know until he told me. As I was making my way through the lobby I noticed the person that ran the counter was watching me. It was weird. They never pay attention to me unless it had to do with the monthly rent. I just shook it off and went and continued making my way to my apartment. I noticed a note on my door. " Don't worry about this month's rent." I was confused. I closed my door when I made it inside.

I set the note on the bar and went to my room. I was looking for an empty box and all the things Colby gave me. "I sware it's like I'm going through a breakup," I said to myself. I found a box after looking for ten minutes. I was now looking through my closet for the hoodie and shirts he gave me. I set all the stuff on my bed and decided to make a letter. I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. I started to write what I wanted to tell him. I basically wrote that the jacket and everything should go to someone that truly means something to him. I also wrote that I was glad our friendship lasted as long as it did. I looked at my dresser and saw the cologne I was going to give him. I looked at it wondering what to do with it. "No, I will just give it to someone who deserves it," I said to myself. I made sure the box was packed and wrapped it up.
