Chapter 15

It has been a few months and now it was December, well the last day of it. It was new years which made me happy. This year was up and down. My ex-best friend and I stopped talking ever since I moved to California and they moved to New York. It's whatever though, we were always back and forth. Tara is one of my best friends I made in California. Sadly Colby and I are not dating yet. I still have not told him about my feelings. I almost did before that stuff happened a few months ago. I brought myself out of my thoughts and continued to help Sam hang up decorations for the new years party, he and Colby were hosting. I was having a bit of trouble hanging the last strip of streamer up since it was really high. I looked beside me when I saw a pair of hands take the streamer.

"Need help?" Colby asked

"Hey Colby," I replied and smiled.

"Hey...Can we talk?" Colby asked me.

I agreed and we went to an empty room in Sam's apartment.

"Look, I'm sorry we have not talked much today.," Colby told me.

"It's okay. Today is a busy day anyway. " I replied

"I know but I'm still sorry. " Colby told me.

"Colby, it's okay," I replied to him before smiling.

"I am glad you can understand that. But I wish I could make it up to you," Colby told me.

" Colby. You don't need to make it up to me." I replied.

"I want to," Colby told me, giving a slight smile.

I gave a slight smile back before there was a knock at the door. It was Tara.

" Hey, I was wondering if you needed any more help, at your apartment?" Tara asked me.

" Well, not really. The only thing I have left is just putting the boxes into the car," I replied to Tara.

"Okay, well Katrina and I can help," Tara told me.

"Thanks, Tara," I replied.

"No problem," Tara told me before closing the door.

I knew Colby was going to ask what that was about since he doesn't know I'm moving.

" What was that about?" Colby asked me.

" I'll tell you later" I replied looking at the ground.

"Okay sweetheart," Colby told me.

My heart skipped a few beats when he called me that. We heard Sam call out names letting us know the party was about to start. Colby and I went to the kitchen where Sam was. Colby and I grabbed a drink as the party officially started. After a bit, Colby and I went our own ways. I ended up talking to Katrina, Xepher, and Tara.

"Does Colby know?" Tara asked me.

" No, he doesn't," I replied.

" Do you plan on telling him?" Xepher asked me.

"Yeah soon," I replied.

" After the party or after you move?" Katrina told me.

"When I feel that the time is right. " I replied.
