Silent streets

When you hear the silence,

Don't be scared,

Because it meant the world heard it.

When you see the empty streets,

Don't be frightened,

Because it meant that they all saw it.

When you are all alone,

Don't be nervous,

Because they all feel the same.

When you are frightened,

Don't be afraid,

Because they feel it too.

When you cannot remember what it feels like to be surrounded by people,

Don't be worried,

Because by being apart, we are together.

When you don't know what it feels like to be held by a friend,

Or just talk face to face,

Don't be disheartened,

They feel it the despair dragging you under.

But then you remember why they are silent, empty,

Why we are alone, This virus, this life-altering virus, has only proved how much we can do with those lives.
