"So you mean to tell me that you have been seeing this boy without us knowing for the past two months and you are already pregnant?" Mom looked dumbfounded. She looked very disappointed.

I looked over to Tony. He squeezed my hand.

"And how exactly are you going to support my daughter?" Dad looked Tony up and down. He was judging him. In this house we never judged. Dad was being hypocritical.

"Yes sir, I work for a very large construction company and I have my own place." He paused; his hands were sweaty. "I can take care of her."

"You barley know her!" Mom yelled.

"Mom Tony and I fell in love. We made some mistakes, and we got pregnant." I stated. "I just need your support more than anything right now. Mom and dad looked at one another.

"You're going to throw your life away." Dad said and got up and left the room.

"What he means is that your dreams are now crushed. You just finished school and it's going to be hard starting a beauty shop when you have a child!" I never saw my mother this upset and I wanted to crawl under the couch and hide.

"We can make it work!" Tony interrupted. "I have a brother who can watch the baby when we work. I can take days off if I need too. Look I can tell by the way you look at me you think I'm this white trash no good piece of garbage. Well your wrong, she changed me." He meant that. "She made me want to be a better person." I love him!

"I see. And what were you before that?" Mom crossed her arms.

"A Telemarketer!" I yelled. I looked over at tony and squinted my eyes. He looked at my mom and nodded.

"Dressed like that?" Mom looked him up and down.

"Yes! Dressed like that! And he was a damn good one! Until he decided to make a career change!" I was yelling now. Mom was insulting him. Tony whispered, "It's okay," But it wasn't okay! This was my future husband!

"I can't do this right now." Mom got up. "I'm going to bed. But you need to decide where you are going to raise this baby. If you raise it here, I don't want him here." Really? she was being like that? She started up the stairs. She was so disappointed in me, "And fast!" Her eyes wide, "You've ruined your life Mindy. And frankly you broke our hearts!"

I looked over at Tony, he hugged me and we decided to leave. I grabbed a few things from my bedroom and followed Tony back to the cabin. I didn't know what my parents wanted. No, I do know. They wanted me to finish school, open my own business, later meet a nice rich guy settle down and get married. Eventually pop out a few kids and live happily ever after. Well it just wasn't going to be that way. Tony and I were going to have to work extra hard if we were going to make this work.

I woke up early the next morning. I looked for Tony but he wasn't there. And then I heard noises in the kitchen. I got up and dressed.

When I got to the kitchen I saw Mike and Tony eating at the kitchen table.

"Hey, morning sweetcakes." Tony came over to greet me with a kiss.

"Morning." Mike sat and took a bite of food. "We talked." He whispered to me but it was more of a nod. I nodded back. They must have spoken about what Mike told me and Tony let him off the hook. I pulled up a chair and Tony brought over a banana and yogurt. He must of remembered when I told him I don't like real breakfast food.

"Eat, you need the nutrition." He kissed me on the forehead.

Mike was smiling ear to ear. He loved to see his brother happy. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever.
